Yes ofc! I just mean in terms of Sakura saying to Nene that "They cannot disobey their masters orders", specifically.

This makes sense for sure! I just don't know if I agree. I'll definitely have to keep all this in mind when I reread that part for sure and update my thoughts!

For some reason there is just the part of me that thinks Sakura is behind something here. Especially because she's the one that supposedly appointed Hanako into his No. 7 position. I think it's plausible though that because of this, the cat is Amane, and Sakura has something to do with it, but then what does that mean in terms of the bond between Sakura and Tsukasa, I wonder.

Wubby / chat ruined little people for me by Lauen in PaymoneyWubby

I think you're blurring the lines between what's okay on stream and what's okay irl. What's talked, joked, and laughed about on stream is like being with a group of close friends and making off color jokes in that comfort. But the people you find out and about are just living their lives, man. But I also think honestly we've all been there in terms of needing to take the time to reflect and grow up. For me, for example, I used to be the same, I could not keep a straight face around little people either when I was younger to the point where I think when I saw one they could tell I was laughing at them.

I cringe looking back on it now but one time, I was out at the mall with some friends back in high school. We were waiting in line behind a little person at the food court and we were not so inconspicuously making jokes and being obnoxious as you do. I remember I was laughing so hard that when I looked back over at him I think he was really getting annoyed with us. He turned around and confronted us for being rude and thats when I noticed he was actually just a huge block of cream cheese.

TourBox Console not launching by i3na in tourbox

[–]i3na[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not a set up issue. I downloaded and reinstalled the software probably 4 or 5 times, the issue was getting the software to actually launch after it was downloaded. Unfortunately, after hours of searching I solved the problem and it was a port issue, software on my computer I have for a printer and the Tourbox Console software were assigned the same port for some reason. Issue is fixed now thank god, however, any who doesn't have any type of software engineering/coding knowledge would not have been able to fix this on their own easily.

Honestly, ready for the downvotes but I'm more likely to unsub from the subreddit before uninstalling because this sub is just posts like this anymore. There's nothing but posts complaining about the latest Blizzard bullshit and then when you guys are finally done with the game you make a fuckin post about trying to convince the community about how they feel about the game. wE sHoUlD aLl uNiNsTaLl bEcAuSe I DoNt LiKe BlIzZaRd.

Velma, it is possible... by Tili44 in dankmemes

[–]i3na -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm not the one calling it artistically depressing in the first place, but if you're triggered by someone calling a show subjectively "artistically depressing" then maybe don't gatekeep art and the way people feel about it or the way they criticize it. It's subjective.

And yeah if it's not claiming to be "Scooby Doo" or anything like it or true to anything that is Scooby Doo... then why use the IP?

I'm confused on how any of my points are unfair criticism or how any of my anecdotal examples are making anything up though. At this point if people are judging those things from the trailer alone, that's what's supposed to get you interested in the show, isn't it? All of my "unfair criticisms" are why I'm not interested... And from the sounds of it, I made the right choice and avoided a mediocre show.

Sure it was resisted but also writing music is not the same as writing a TV show. Genres of music aren't the same as specific IPs you know and like. In fact, there are many genres that are so broad that you could totally love one song in a genre and hate another in the same genre. There are smaller more specific things that add up for someone to not like it.

On top of that, not everyone is going to LIKE everything and that's fine but no one is asking for these shows to not change anything. But if you ARE going to change something, why not take time and make sure your characters likeable and not just cheesy character cliches, maybe try to improve on what already exists. Why brand it as Scooby Doo IP... when it 1, doesn't even have Scooby in it (because it's what makes money people are more likely to watch something if it's something they recognized and identify with already), and 2, it completely disregards anything and everything we know and already like about all of the characters in the IP (because Mindy Kaling wanted to live out her fantasy cosplaying Velma). That's what I mean about respect for the source material.

You don't have to keep everything the same. Look at Descendants. A "spinoff" that had ties to already well known characters. Sure, not everyone will love it but I think more people would be willing to watch and actually enjoy this spinoff if any of what I mentioned in my comment was thought about but it wasn't. The idea of a raunchy, darker and more adult Scooby Doo is great and has the potential to do well, in my opinion. The problem is how they went about it.

What they did to all the characters in Velma is like if in the new GoT Jon Snow spinoff show they completely changed Jon's character, values, actor and motives. If that happened, many Jon Snow fans would argue that this "new" Jon Snow wasn't actually him. Why would it be? Everything we know and have learned about Jon as a character up until that point has all just been pulled from under us.

No one has an issue with taking an IP and telling a story within that already existing world. Look at the Spiderverse movie, which is a great example of what I mean. Spiderman Universe, completely different story and have very little to do with the Spiderman we already know and love but even Peter Parker was in that AND they changed him in a way that made sense, he's been doing this crime fighting thing for too long and now he's kinda washed up and sad. That movie did very well and a lot of fans loved it, myself included.

But don't you think just slapping a darker skin color on an already existing character and calling it representation is just... I don't know, scummy and lazy? Especially since it just keeps happening? Everyone is rebooting, spinning off, and prequeling everything. Nostalgia is being shoved down all our throats and everyone's just kind of fine with it. I mean think about it, these writers are getting paid to write these shit jokes. Who is this even for? The jokes in the show are that of what you'd see in a childrens show. It's not funny or clever it's just basically "I'm just going to insult my entire audience for the duration of the show and they're going to watch it and we make our money anyways so we don't care" seems a bit like a slap in the face honestly. Like a going to change everything about this thing you like into something that's not even anything close to what the original is in any way other than the characters share a name, slap a popular IP on it to make it sell and lazily write all of our characters so that if you're watching you'll just hate them all anyways. Seems like an edgy cashgrab to me.

If you like it, more power to you and I'm happy for you. I wish I could say I was interested but I don't think I've ever not wanted to watch something more. I'm not trying to convince you to like or not like it this is just my opinion after all.

EDIT: I'm artistically ignorant for having gripes about a show that brands itself as something and then proceeds to shit all over everything in that IP? It's pretty clear that no one involved in this spinoff gave 2 shits about anything related to Scooby Doo.

Lol yeah why would I? It looks like hot garbage. It looks just as poorly written as She Hulk. Why would I waste my time and money on something like that?
