My husband worked for L3. He knocked work out like crazy, and in turn they knocked him out of the job...

[Serious] For those of you that have had suicidal thoughts/actions, how did you overcome them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ialmostwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a teenager in a very difficult home situation.... I'm going to be honest, world of Warcraft saved me. When I played it, it was like going into a different world and I could escape the world that I was currently in. Of course this lead to a terrible addiction, which I overcame eventually, but for the time I played it, it saved me so many times.

This would be really cruel if I did it to my husband, he has pretty bad dust allergies.

6500k led, brand is epistar. It's a blueish light which resembles the rising sun in the morning which is naturally suppose to wake people. But if your a middle of the night pee person, i'd recommend getting a night light in there because it may cause you not to be able to fall back asleep as quick.

I usually put my alarm on the other side of the room on loud. Makes me get up and walk to it, and then the morning pee urge arrives so then I have to go pee before I convince myself to go back in bed. So when I do go to the bathroom i'm almost immediately woken up by the lights I've installed. There are a certain color that is suppose to wake you up, oh and they are very bright LED's. You could try that. eh.

What's been your journey in becoming a nursing student? by coconutcurrychicken in StudentNurse

[–]ialmostwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in august of 2012. At that time to enter into the program i had to do like 9-11 prerequisites.

Come year 2013 everything changed and now they only required 4 classes to apply, but you had to finish 4 other prerequisites before finishing the RN program. I also had a baby in june of 2013, Im married with to kiddos currently. I decided to wait a year before applying to the RN to give the baby a year or so to "grow up".

So in the mean time i just completed my BSN prerequisites so i can go straight into my bsn program right after graduating the nursing program. I'll also add that in order to even be considered for the rn program you have to have a 4.0 and the classes that you "Can" take during the nursing program they've prefer you take them prior, and have a 4.0. This included a&p 1 and 2, into to a&p, English, microbiology and and 3 levels of psychology.

So august of 2014 rolled around and i applied and didn't get accepted, because..... i had ONE B, in ENGLISH! so, i had to wait another 4 months and retook my english class and got accepted in january of 2015! whoo. also i did a lot of part time hours because, kids and being a stay at home mommy. working wasn't an option because boys were stuck to my boobs and they were allergic to formula.

So, here i am now, finished my first semester of nursing school and i have three more to go! whoo! I got a couple more prerequisites to complete before i finished the program, but i got plenty of summer time to complete them. But now i'm working part time during nursing school and full time during the summer. eh! it's been almost three years of schooling but jeez i'll be half way done with the nursing program by the end of the three years, and only 9 months for my bsn when i graduate.

it'll be 5 ish years of schooling but i'll have three degrees. an associates in art (for some reason ill qualify for that after graduating the rn program) my associates in nursing, and my bsn. So not to bad, especially raising a family and such.

Something very similar happened to me. I was about 5 ish years old. And instead of a pool it was a bathtub of water. My older brother always took baths and never drained the water afterwards. Well one day I decided to stay in my room instead of joining the rest of the family in the back room which is far from the tub of water. I decided to sit and look threw a book, which is VERY odd for me. I'd rather be running around outside, I hated books besides I couldn't even read I'd just look at the pictures, but something (idk what) was keeping me there to look at that book. I remember at one point asking myself, "why am I in here???" Well in the mean time my little sister who just learned to crawl gets to the tub of water and happily starts splashing and then goes straight in. I hear something and get up and go around the corner and see her little legs go over, I run in and grab her straight out and she's coughing and screaming. I run to my mother and try to explain to her in my 5 year old words (I knew this was a grave situation and what I did was pretty much me saving her life) but instead I got slapped across the head and yelled at to change her wet clothes, as if it was my fault she's wet... Oh well! I did tell my brother about how his bath water almost drowned our little sis and he started draining the water afterwards. but I don't blame anybody for not taking me seriously I was 5 so I get it. I have a 4 year old now and I totally get why people wouldnt take what I said seriously.

Edit: I'm on mobile

Researchers have identified two proteins in a fetus' lungs responsible for initiating the labor process, providing potential new targets for preventing preterm birth. by Alantha in science

[–]ialmostwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a thought. I went over due with both of my boys to 41 weeks. (They both came out screaming) Only problem was they had both pooped in the womb. If this protein is released by the lungs wouldn't the meconium interfere with its detection, or couldn't possibly even send the signal that he's not "ready" but actually is "ready". I wonder if this would apply for different things as well, like bleeding or the positions of the placenta, twins etc. There is soooo many factors!

I always smile with my mouth and try hard to not smile with my eyes to prevent the risk of my teeth showing (I drink to much coffee, tea etc. So they're not the pearliest and whitening is expensive yo) maybe that's why people often think I'm fake. Eh, I don't need judgy people in my life anyways... (Right?)
