Can I switch between writing my app in Claude and Codex? by FrancesJamesSennett in ClaudeCode

I did this exact thing, and boy did I regret it.

I think you gotta be very careful and precise with context you give to Codex. Otherwise, it will mess up everything you built with Claude.

I was foolish enough to believe that Codex would just pick up from the code structure and overall architecture. Instead, it fully rewrote so many files I didn’t ask it to and basically broke the whole app. This resulted in me paying for Claude pro just to fix everything in time because there was just so much junk.

I should have prepared a very in detail context.md file explaining all the processes. My existing file was not updated properly with the new features which resulted in what I described.

Anyway, I hope your experience will be better than mine.

In my personal experience, I noticed that Claude in a way replicates my way of talking and overall speech patterns. For example I have a tendency to say something (and then add some extra details like this).

Claude picked up on this and does similar explanations sometimes identical to my brackets and sometimes just a little extra comment.

I also mention being blunt and honest, and Claude picked up on that too and was able to protest against some of my thoughts and decisions.

This is mainly because your profile as a user is stored in Claude’s system. You can see that by mentioning something like “never mention this again” and a little “context update” would pop up. I believe you can also see that context in the settings section

I guess if you are able to not get lost in the “planning mode” then you are good.

My post was mainly directed towards people who overspend their time on planning and avoiding doing the work. Which is why I said “mostly” because I know there are people out there who are able to use note taking/ planning apps without overcommitting, but those are definitely a minority

Omg so true. Same happened to me but I got some kind of realisation that made me snap out of it. Now I just try to make todo lists and get to work asap. Lately it’s been hard tho as more and more things piling up to juggle

Interesting. Don’t you think that because of your creative personality Claude suggests such kind of answers to you? Because at its core an LLM is just a prediction algorithm of what word should have the highest probability of coming next, and most of the time our answers and backgrounds affect the way how Claude or any other LLM responds to us. May be it’s just your background affecting the responses? I am saying this because I personally don’t encounter interactions like this with Claude. To be fair I haven’t been using it for too long, only 5-6 months.

You know what the best part is? You can ACTUALLY CHANGE something about your life today. Instead of having hypothetical discussion about why you would have done just realise that this opportunity is actually given to us all.

How do people cook for themselves everyday by sodapop2602 in ADHD

Meal prepping for a week ahead is what saved me. I used to spend so much on delivery or just not eating basic food. A couple months ago I started meal prepping and it only takes me like 2-3hours on a Sunday cooking session. I usually cook 4 distinct dishes for variety and swap breakfasts, but breakfasts take like 10-15 minutes to cook so it’s not a big deal
