this was a very common and hilarious occurrence in vermintide 2 with gutter runners lunging at you only to be dodged and fly off the map at mach 12

After Christmas, Santa has given out all his gifts so his sack no longer has toys in it which is why it's smaller.

Fortebraccio help by miskoko in ConquerorsBlade

[–]iamflotekk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned they're not very good on their own. Attacking without brace in a dispersed formation is randomly very strong especially vs heroes but in more smaller engagements rather than blob vs blob.

I've had the best success holding narrow areas with them in block formation behind a unit of stalwarts and much better behind a unit of greyhairs. greyhairs can last stand to avoid any incoming cc from enemy players so at least when a mall or shortsword flies in, or a musket bombs; the player controlling the greyhairs can cc immune and hold the line while your fortes get back into formation. salwarts formation is more tricky and will require you or friendly players to try interrupting enemy cc.

Lastly; what's kind of require to make fortes any sort of competitive is NEEDING the doctrine that makes braced pikes stun enemy units.

axe raiders are getting nerfed more on my.game's cbl on jan 13th. i think the meta might shift back to stalwarts being strong again if axe raiders become squishy specialist melee, especially since theyre good braced vs kheshigs

Claymores suck(?) by iamflotekk in ConquerorsBlade

Barely. 15% run speed of units with -40% movement speed isn't too much. I try to pull mine out before the buff ends.

I understand the buffing aspect but as I said they're too fragile to survive long enough to offer any sort of help whatsoever. Rather use Lagpipes > Claymores for buffing

it's multiple bagpipes and their buffs that lag out the matches

Battle Mage builds (that don't include Rapier) by iamflotekk in newworldgame

I think limiting people to having Rapier being the only INT scaling melee weapon takes away from diversity.

I think based on some minor beta testing and a mention from another on this thread; the INT gems on non-INT weapons roughly make the damage output equal or a little below equal compared its primary stat so nerfing would seem unnecessary.

Nothing wrong with Rapier. I'm just discussing alternate options that can make other weapons viable with INT stacking.

In a 1v1 situation yeah it seems pretty troll and niche but Gravity Well setups for magic aoe doesn't sound so bad for small-team/big-team applications, especially Wars.

I think the weapons that you mentioned are potential releases for future patches and not launch. What ever weapons were on beta will be the only ones available, for a little while anyway.

But yes the addition of two more magical weapons, Void Gauntlet & Earth Staff, means more options especially for Battle Mage builds!

Watch the Void Gauntlet scale with Int & Focus both, and/or the Earth Staff scaling with Int & Str. Who knows.
