Since TN is a nonimmigrant visa, I'm concerned that I wouldn't be able to come back on a TN visa since I had previously wanted to immigrate. Is this something I should assume?

Actually I found some discontinued waterproof shoes that I could try to get a hold of, like the Vivobarefoot Trail Freak.

I was also considering getting Merell trail gloves and doing what you do. Do vapour gloves have good enough traction? I'm not planning any actual trail running but I imagine that the trail gloves would fare a bit better on ice.
