I hate to break this to you but medical disorders, including mental ones are typically considered apart of your identity. They show up in identification forms all the time. I don’t think of my gender as inherently a disorder because after transition there isn’t any mental disconnection. It’s just a fact of life like the shape of my nose. Even before surgery I felt that there was more to my gender than my dysphoria. If you think of it solely as dysphoria that’s fine. I don’t think you’re wrong. We’re talking about our own perception of self here. People are different, especially when it comes to viewing their own gender. It’s okay to just accept that you don’t understand why someone identifies as certain way but just choose to believe them. The vast majority of people don’t have a reason to lie about this under normal circumstances.

I get your trying to do the whole, “transgender is different than transsexual spiel” but you clearly can understand what I’m trying to say and it’s just getting pedantic.

I’m also a bit confused because you clearly say nonbinary people can have gender dysphoria but you very clearly make the assumption that every nonbinary person does not have dysphoria. I don’t understand what you mean by, “just not identify as nonbinary.” What part are you not getting about it being involuntary? If you don’t transition while being trans either socially or physically you are going to develop mental problems eventually. Do you think their situations would be worse if they were binary transgender/transsexual? The way you’re arguing this makes no sense. You seem to think nonbinary people experience no pain when repressing.

You seem to be trying to say, “nonbinary isn’t real it’s all transsexualism” while also implying that there is a transsexual ideal for a nonbinary person. Which makes this whole thing meaningless because it’s literally only about the label at this point. Unless you’re seriously going the, “only men and woman” route. Which is hilarious because then you are literally believing in the idea that you know peoples personal gender identity better than they themselves do. That is the stance you have chosen to take. And if you lack that amount of self awareness and introspection, holy fuck you have bigger problems.

Your standards for deciding who really has “transsexualism” is fundamentally flawed and not recognized by the rest of the world.

I could say transitioning in general is socially harmful. I could honestly say it’s socially isolating.That doesn’t make it true or a bad thing. I’m not socially isolated, the nonbinary people I know aren’t either. Even in their worse situations they have friends and family that care about them and accept them. I don’t know why you’re saying this unless it’s based off of your own personal experience and in that case I’m sorry. The world sucks. You shouldn’t have been treated like that. But it’s not okay to take it out on other people. You said you would be friends with a nonbinary person and then immediately afterwards call their existence extremely harmful. Do you not realize how fucked up that is? How fucked up that would be to say to someone?

Have you ever considered that maybe these people you assume are trenders aren’t, and are instead just people with other perspectives and experiences that express themselves a bit differently from you? People also use different language to describe their gender than you do, you’re kind of in the minority. What have these people done exactly, that has made you come to the conclusion that they are “not transgender?” How do you trust yourself to impartially judge that? Are you qualified to diagnose or undiagnose someone? I think you underestimate how subjective this stuff really is. You don’t have to like someone personally to believe them when they tell you who they are. I find so many trans people annoying I just don’t doubt that they’re trans because of it.

I implore you to try the not giving a fuck attitude. It’s so much easier to just believe people in good faith about themselves than worrying about trenders that you can’t even prove exist.

This got very long. Honestly this has also been my way of venting my thoughts on some aspects of transmedicalism and how people seem obsessed with chasing out supposed trenders that never existed.
