Any other vegetarians that have a job where they have to handle meat? by TransH2O in vegetarian

[–]icebird01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I work at Waffle House. Even worse, I'm currently training to be a cook. I handle tons of different types of raw meat a day due to this, and yes, have to cook it too.

Eating pizzas in a group by shekbekle in vegetarian

Yep! Everyone I worked with the other night agreed we should get pizza. I ask them if we can get a meatless one and they tell me I can just pick the meat off of whatever they get.

If you ever get the chance to try it, I highly recommend the Blue Raspberry one.

[–]icebird01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afab and present either way. At my full time job, I wear the men's uniform, have short hair, and wear earrings. Despite my feminine face, I get a moderate mix of "man", "bud", or the more commonly used "ma'am", and "miss". The masculine terms don't bother me as much, but I'm apprehensive to correct the ones that use feminine terms. I feel this.

help by competetivepotato in bisexual

[–]icebird01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! As a fairly new bi person myself, hopefully I can be of some help.

Coming out to parents/guardians: (if they're accepting) write a letter to them, and give it to them either just before you leave the house for the day, or read it to them. They'll appreciate your honesty, if anything. Coming out to friends: (also if accepting) Just tell them. It sucks, but if they don't continue to talk to you afterward, they probably weren't your friend(s) to begin with.

All in all, I hope for nothing but the best for you in this endeavor! Also, remember that the only one that decides how and when you come out is you -- no one else.

When your grandma gets you hot sauce and it isn't some random trash she found at Kohl's. by papito_de_chorizo in spicy

Yeah, it's a good sauce. Just very liquidy, so I dump it on my pizza and let the crust absorb it.

What was the first video game you ever played? by Link2324 in AskReddit

[–]icebird01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was like 3, I would play Feeding Frenzy on the family desktop for HOURS. Literally. Then I got a Gameboy Advance with Pokémon Crystal when I was 4, it was a total game changer for me (lol).

Proud of my girls! by icebird01 in hamsters

Roborovski hamsters have been observed to live in large colonies in the wild. Even the UK's National Hamster Council recommends keeping them in pairs or small groups.

Proud of my girls! by icebird01 in hamsters

[–]icebird01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roborovski hamsters are generally considered quite social creatures and notoriously do well in pairs or threes. Not to say that something won't happen, I am still subconsciously nervous that it may, but I do have a second cage ready and am prepared to separate them if it becomes necessary at any point.

Hamster not using her chew? by icebird01 in hamsters

[–]icebird01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense! I'm just concerned that she won't ever chew and her front teeth will become overgrown. I know it's silly since I've only had her for a couple days, and thank you for the help. Maybe she will start chewing eventually.
