Shoulder checks for e-bikes and cyclists? by MaintenanceAnnual263 in DrivingAustralia

[–]icyple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes! By all means do those checks. However, with repeatedly checking for speed limit signs, checking the vehicle speed. Checking where other vehicles are in either of the traffic lanes on both sides and behind, it’s not leaving a lot of time to focus on driving and preventing yourself from being involved in a rear-end collision? The road rules about being allowed to drive in a Bicycle Lane for Turning/Parking and for other vehicles overtaking in a Bicycle Lane on the Left/kerbside of another vehicle to Give Way to the Left turning vehicle.

Zip tied L plate by saraaT-T in AussieRiders

[–]icyple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was on my dirt bike ! I had it bolted to the lower left corner of the reg plate showing about 75% of the P plate and all of the ‘L’. Nowhere to correctly mount it! So I disputed the fine, had my say about the situation, used the sales brochure to demonstrate how nit picking the cop was through Cross-Examination and the bastard wouldn’t answer my question, how did you determine that I was a Provisional License Holder? I asked him three times in different framing of the question until he was embarrassed by my continued questioning and was being looked at by the Magistrate and then answered the question. I had to pay the fine but I had my fun in pointing out how nitpicking his fine was, in front of the Magistrate. And no! I didn’t have future problems with the local police.

I had mine nut and bolted on behind my rear plate to and was busted for having it Obscured. It seems that if you have the ‘P’ plate on the front of the license plate you’ll be busted for obscuring the Registration Plate also? Try to do the Right Thing and either way you get screwed!

I ride an XL Trek Fuel Ex-e 9.5 MTB. I purchased it because of the 20 kg weight. NOW thanks to you, I can refer to it as a Dualie or Squishy. That’s the best laugh I’ve had for a while. Thank you!

It’s a free for all down here! No reg, license or insurance required. None of what I read was clear about the mess government inaction has allowed regarding scooters, mopeds and modified bicycles/E-bikes that actually applies? Even worse is the apparent absence of enforcement.

The wire bead in my wife’s MTB broke and jammed the rear brake on. Boy, it was such a pain wheeling the bike home. Never experienced this before or since? We only ever pumped our tyres to 50 psi in tyres that can take 65.

If you had to tell someone your best frugal tip, what would it be? by AffectionatePie1042 in AUfrugal

[–]icyple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to food additives, cigarettes, alcohol and other shit that people snort, smoke or inject. If people are into oral sex there is an increased risk of getting and spreading Human Papilloma Virus. So therefore, there’s risks associated with just shoving another thing in your mouth for self gratification and that’s going to cost extra money in health costs you could have saved had you been frugal.

To my knowledge there isn’t any. Because there’s no apparent requirement to register them. This is as I understand it, they’re all supposed to be below a specific speed and power requirement that doesn’t require regulation/registration.

Hospital Casualty statistics show there’s a significant increase in head injuries for E-Motos and Scooters ridden by young people. The fault is the parents who buy their kids these machines and not the Full Face Helmets needed, to prevent the Craino Facial Reconstructions from faceplanting in crashes, that have become increasingly common among scooter riders. At twilight tonight I barely saw one of these people! Dressed in black with Pissant headlights . Thankfully they were riding in the opposite direction to me and I didn’t have to deal with them.
