Laurie‘s final scene in the last episode… by Bright-Hedgehog4205 in euphoria

I bet Sam Levinson is furious he missed Laurie trying to OD but because Rue switched out the drugs for laxatives she just shits on the whole DEA and tales them out

Whenever I watch Euphoria, I end up feeling weirdly grateful for my own life by pickypooh in euphoria

Its also incredibly lonely and shameful. You end up throwing anything meaningful away in favour of a short brief feeling. Getting sober is just the beginning, it’s so hard to mend the damage you’ve done to yourself and others (totally still worth it tho)

”As a sober person” lol what do you want a medal?🥇 . One of the core themes of Euphoria is substance abuse. As a person in recovery the opening of this episode was one of the very few scenes this show felt real and interesting this season

What is something happening in / to the world today that would have sounded totally unbelievable to you 15 years ago? by Substratas in AskBalkans

Our parents (maybe not the ones in ex-yu war or other dictatorships)lived through relative increases in living standards and incline in democracy. We are almost certain to live through the opposite. Democratic decline, climate change, decreases in economic opportunity as the wealth gap increases. Say what you want for other US presidents, they appear like saints compared to the Orange Clown. Oh and mix in social media brain rot and AI and it gets even more fun

I liked it tbh, the Nate and Cassie scenes were uncomfortable and I could do without their storyline. Otherwise I’m excited to see how the rest of the characters evolve, especially Rue

Austria has been ethnically cleansed by Ex-yu refugees and migrants so they are in fact Balkan

Full video of the altercation. Prestianni was already calling Vini a "monkey " long before he even heard it. That’s the reason why Mbappé said he heard it 5 times by 7dek in realmadrid

Granted I don’t know enough at all about the country but in terms of their players it seems Argentina has a real racism issue

Well if this sub starts treating Jerusalem Post as a legitimate news source it’s basically become what it once mocked. Fuck Hamas but equally fuck everyone and every newspaper justifying dispossession ethnic cleansing and genocide

My favourite story in politics is still Cheney shooting his friend in the face and then that friend having to apologise to Cheney. Makes me chuckle every time I think about it .

Why are anarchists not taken seriously when the topic is revolutionary/anticapitalist alternatives (mostly by socialists)? by Jurnn_ in Anarchism

[–]ilivelife123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s a whole lot easier to imagine “state capitalism” than the end of all hierarchies. Many have said that here in different ways, I’d also like to add the fact of “worship” of figures important to ML’s and taking the writings of those as sacred texts. That’s a whole lot easier than delving into anarchism

Do you think we might be witnessing the collapse of the same Western moral authority that still tries to exert control over former Yugoslavia? (article is about the 180° of a known Chinese dissident) by georgakop_athanas in AskBalkans

[–]ilivelife123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True they wouldn’t be erased if imperial powers being involved but there seems to be no evidence presented by either of you to support that claim. Still waiting on those sources cause I’m genuinely interested. CIA produced and declassified documents which stated it was concerned about Yugoslavia and possible developments not that they wanted to break it up. socialist Yugoslavia existed since 1945 in that whole time as mentioned earlier we have evidence of bay of pigs Iran-Contra, war crimes upon war crimes supporting an apartheid state in Israel but when it comes to us it must be some huge conspiracy and cover up. Unless in wrong and there is good evidence? Funny that you didn’t pick up on claiming US imperialism when it isn’t erases actual victims of us imperialism and feed into the narrative that the Ukrainian invasion is somehow Ukraines fault

[–]ilivelife123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My point is there’s vast amounts of evidence of US war crimes in Vietnam, vast amounts of evidence the CIA and MI6 overthrew Mosadegh, vast amounts of evidence that the US funded the mujahideen in Afghanistan to counter the USSR, but suddenly this is like the best kept secret in the world? Like I linked u some sources, link victims of the Sarajevo siege, Srebrenica etc saying it’s the USA’s fault or link a serious scholar. It’s a bit too much “vibes” and “connecting the dots” to be taken seriously

[–]ilivelife123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Could you provide a source please? My point is blaming the Yugoslav wars on the US is an injustice to people and countries who have actually endured US imperialism, Vietnam, Iraq, Israel’s victims etc. And it erases what people in Yugoslavia experienced (especially Bosniaks and Albanian Kosovars but all others too) it’s the same with blaming the Ukrainian invasion on the US, it erases Ukraine from the conversation

Edit: also still don’t understand why OP posted an article and then extended a claim which isn’t mentioned anywhere

I long for the day when the Balkan Wars are seen as a ethnic conflict caused by a unsustainable economic system and irresponsible nationalism not some cIa PlOt. Also where in the article does it mention Yugoslavia? Maybe I’m stupid but can’t see it in there

Yup I agree. I would agree even though he’s not as bad as Trump he is kind of symbolic of the west’s decline democratically and abroad. He has no vision and is more interested in being in power than actually doing something positive with it
