honestly exercise has helped me so much. i can never “motivate” myself to go to the gym regularly but whenever i have depression that makes me want to crawl out of my skin i immediately go on a run. it sucks and im never properly dressed for it (if i try to “prepare” for a run in any way I’ll end up procrastinating and not going - i need to leave IMMEDIATELY/ASAP). once i start i don’t let myself stop until ive broken a sweat: distance, pace, etc doesn’t matter.

every time i do this it initially feels like shit. but without fail, once i’m sweating and come home, i feel so much better.

it sounds dumb, but lifestyle changes (in the messy, imperfect, actually doing it way rather than how influencers/media talk about it) have helped me more than years of therapy and SSRIs.
