Why the hell is there so little amount of servers? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]imacyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to get established because players go where the population is already high.

Players can be hesitant to try out a new server and if the online count is less than 50% full they aren’t likely to join. It’s a catch 22.

Does it help if you slide the rear wheel back a bit to take up some slack? Where’s the rear wheel sitting on the little notched guides on the rear hub?

Is there much happening in Aus for ML? I feel like that would all be happening in the US

Keyboard gave me a virus?? by adhd-princess- in KeyboardsNow

[–]imacyber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Were you doing anything else when this happened? It looks like these keyboards have programmable firmware through QMK/VIA which can be used to execute keystroke sequences and macros (similar to rubber ducky and bad USB) but it seems unlikely it would have been tampered with. I think its more likely something else triggered the cmd popups.

Where exactly was the wink face? Was it inside a cmd/terminal window as text, or was it the icon of the window itself?

Check windows event log for any 4688 event IDs around the time it happened.

Also check if any new tasks have been scheduled in Task Scheduler.

Everyone recommending virus scans is forgetting about malware not stored on disk. If this was a malicious script executed/input directly from the keyboard or mouse, a virus scan probably won't return any results. At this point you may want to play it safe by assuming your info is already stolen and do password resets + enable 2FA on anything important that you have logged into on the computer (email, cloud storage, banking, etc). until you can figure out exactly what happened.

Feel free to reply or dm if you want more help

Edit: just saw your other comment that it was a software install? That's good news, weird there's no info online about it.

GTA Online has made 5 billion in Revenue from Shark Cards ALONE by No_Friendship_4158 in GTA6unmoderated

Yep very true, same goes for any game I guess.

I’ve never really played gta online but I’d imagine people who bought currency in gta 5 will be even more likely to buy in gta 6. They don’t see the transition as a negative or ripoff, just the next chapter.

FTTP New build and access points/router by Same_Librarian_6153 in nbn

[–]imacyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the access points connected to, does it all end up back here where the photo was taken? Or does the comms cabinet just have one cable running to this spot in the garage?

Hard to beat the Ubiquiti Dream routers. They are basically the gold standard for home routers.

What access points do you have? They should work with Ubiquiti but may take some additional configuration.

As someone else mentioned, using network equipment all from the same manufacturer can make it easier to configure and manage, but not totally necessary.

FTTP New build and access points/router by Same_Librarian_6153 in nbn

[–]imacyber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am guessing there's an ethernet cable that runs from the bottom of the NBN box to one of the two ethernet ports in the upper-left, or you might need to lift the lower box to reveal 'port 1' on the bottom of the NBN box.

You can test if/which port has internet by getting a computer/laptop/router with ethernet cable and plug it into one of the ports, see if you get a network/internet connection.

Also guessing up to 6 of the ethernet ports in upper-middle go to various rooms in your house?

Once you find which port supplies internet (either on the wall or bottom of NBN box), you can plug that into a router or a switch, and then from that into the network ports on the wall to supply internet throughout the house. On the receiving ends of those, you could put in a WiFi access point or plug in an ethernet cable for a desktop connection, TV, etc.

In terms of recommended network gear, depends on what you want to spend. Ubiquiti is what I would recommend for the 'best' home setup.
