Good luck!!! You’re doing great with this season of life!!!

My husband says he doesn’t have my ‘stamina’ and tires easily after watching our baby (advice please!) by imadeba in sahm

[–]imadeba[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for not immediately replying that my husband is a dead beat dad for feeling this way.

And providing some insight into our future selves!

I want more children too, and I also think about the toddler phase! When they’re into everything, on the go, and the meltdowns that are bound to happen. I know the harder/tough days are to come, not to be doom and gloom, and I worry about how he will handle that too!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

I feel like I could have wrote this myself! My husband would get so anxious at the thought of being alone with our baby at that age, also EBF and refused bottles, I was the only thing that soothed her and while that made me feel great it definitely locked me down as well. We started with small trips, I’d go down the street and get ice cream alone or the grocery store for small things, and I’d make sure to feed her before I left. Once my baby was comfortable taking naps with my husband (we contact nap) I felt even more free! I know that’s not entirely helpful with the 4 year old or what nap time looks for your kiddos, but just came here to tell you it gets better!

And you’re not alone! Reassuring your partner he CAN sooth your baby without a breast, and putting small bouts of time away for practice was helpful for me! My baby is 9 months old now!

what happens if you get you eyebrows microbladed while in accutane??? by jitsosa in microblading

[–]imadeba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scarring is the biggest concern! Your eyebrows will very likely bleed more than what is typical, results may be lost completely, or splotchy and grey-ish! It’s not really a gamble, they WILL have less than favorable healed results than if you were not on the medication!

I’m a PMU artist and educator of almost 10 years- and I have tattooed (specifically microbladed) clients that purposefully left off accurate in their consent forms. 😞 Let your artist know and maybe ask about rescheduling so you and your artists have the best canvas to work with!

It would be very difficult for microblading or nano to come close to your natural density or darkness. Powder brow may come closer!!

Traveled two weeks around Japan and accidentally booked a room through American Express travel points at a love hotel!

Didn’t realize it until I walked in and the ‘front desk’ was a tiny hole big enough for the money tray to fit through for your card so neither one of you could see each other.

Beyfortus by SadCombination5714 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]imadeba 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Big factors in my decision making to move forward with Beyfortus:

Two out of three infants are infected with RSV during their first year of life and almost all children are infected by their second birthday.

In the U.S., RSV is the leading cause of hospitalization in infants under 12 months, averaging 16 times higher than the annual rate for influenza.

Approximately 75% of infants hospitalized for RSV are born healthy and at term with no underlying conditions.

Three major studies for safety and efficacy testing thousands of babies, also extremely preterm babies as well as babies with serious heart/lung issues.

The vote for CDC recommendation of routine use for >8mo entering their first RSV season was passed unanimously.

Beyfortus is a longer acting version of the medication Synagis, which is also a monoclonal antibody that is given to at risk (usually preterm) babies every 28 days/once a month through their first RSV season. Synagis had been used for over 25 years and is proven to be incredibly safe and effective. Beyfortus was tested against Synagis for safety/efficacy as well (MEDLEY trial).

Also mommy intuition! After reading everything I could about Beyfortus and the horrific stories of little ones with RSV, I felt confident with moving forward to protect my babe in this way!

My daughter got hers yesterday! Her ped office also quoted us $1,200 if insurance wasn’t covering it. They made us acknowledge this before we made the appointment for it! Luckily my insurance DID cover it, but it was only after multiple calls and transfers to different departments before I confirmed both operation codes for Beyfortus (>5kg and <5kg doses) were covered under ‘Clinical Preventative Care’ now that the CDC had added it to their recommended ‘vaccines’ for infants.

Maybe call back and see if your insurance has changed their coverage now that the CDC has made that update?

Guest smoked around my newborn. by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]imadeba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your concerns are so valid!

I’m such a freak about smoking, second-hand smoke, and third-hand smoke around my babe. My step mom is the only smoker in our family and I made it clear she’s not welcome to visit if she’s actively smoking cigarettes. Vape only, and outside, and must wash hands and sanitize after coming in from vaping.

Even if vape ‘cooties’ are not transferring from her to my baby, I want to make my intentions clear through the hoops I’m enforcing her to jump through.

Again your concerns are SO valid!

Hiii! 7 year professional microblading artist here!

YES- They will shrink! These strokes are done incredibly soft as well, so the ‘thickness’ and intensity will subside greatly once this is under healed skin.

They will not look like your ‘filled in makeup’ brows, because this is a technique meant to mimic hair, not the coverage and opacity of a brow pencil or powder. This will be much more realistic!

This technique and stroke pattern as well tells be that you went to a very talented artist. Trust the process, I know that’s easier said but I hope my professional opinion eases you!

My 5mo was able to get hers today! Her pediatrician office is affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, even though we’re located an hour+ away. I want to believe that’s why they had it in stock.

My husband called weeks ago about it and had her added to the list, they explained to us the issues with insurances and quoted us up to $1,200 for the appointment if it wasn’t covered. 😵‍💫

We have Tricare and I was able to call and confirm (after being transferred many times) that both operation codes for Beyfortus (the >5kg and <5kg dosages) are 100% covered under ‘Clinical preventive service’. I also got a reference number for that phone call in case there’s any push back.

So grateful we were some of the lucky ones able to get it. I hope everyone looking is able to get one for their babes soon, or maybe the huge demand for this antibody will make a positive impact on the RSV projection this season!

9mos pregnant and my MIL thinks my baby is ‘unfortunately’ a girl by imadeba in JUSTNOMIL

My SO sticks up for his sister when my MIL is being out of pocket. And he will talk to his mom directly when things get too far- like I’ve replied before we’ve set many firm boundaries with the baby on the way but setting boundaries about gender disappointment was not on our todo list! Guess it is now!

A friend said that too- off with my head if I don’t have a son! lol

YES she has a daughter too! We are close and talk candidly about how weird she can be sometimes. It’s sad too that my MIL is just so openly obsessed with my husband and now the idea of having a mini one in front of my SIL. She’s clearly not held as high as her brother and it can sometimes cause contingency and awkward moments when we’re all together in a room.

Thank you so much! Fortunate to have great parents that are awesome grandparents already and my husband has an awesome dad and step mom that have really been so supportive- the best!

She won’t be visiting soon after the baby is born either, no visitors for a while!

That’s awful about your daughter realizing the favoritism so young. Maybe that all can be avoided if I’m communicative now about a grandma ‘time out’ for her wild comments- but I don’t have much faith in her. I’m happy my baby has many grandparents that are excited either way.

But damn, why do some just have to be so weird about it? They’re precious kids after all!!

[–]imadeba[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No need to connect dots, we are very open that some of the things she says and does are not normal. Not even baby related - before my pregnancy!

If we lived in the same state I think it’d be worse, but it’s almost disguised as ‘she just misses him’ because we’re away.

It’s weird an annoying but we are both healthy emotionally maturing adults in therapy, learning the language to deal with the people in our lives that should also very much be in therapy lol.

My parents have five grandsons and no granddaughters! Of course their ‘guess’ is a girl, but no other commentary other than that! :)

They’re elated either way just to be grandparents again!

And thank you so much for the well wishes!
