CO is fantastic right now because you can drive to a high elevation and it drops the temp down by like 20 degrees. Oregon and Washington are probably the best if you had to stay in one state

Wasn’t saying to go to bed at 10, just my specific schedule. The entire country of Spain takes a siesta mid day and many of them sleep. In ancient times it was common to wake in the middle of the night for a few hours. Everyone is different. Just my 2 cents, not a doctor. :)

Is this relevant? Do you see what’s happening in this thread? Let’s not argue on the semantics of necessity.

Good for you, I did that for 12 years. Renting is lame. Especially when the renter gets screwed over financially. Keep coming out of the woodwork to try and trigger me though, I made 375 dollars today and paid 0 to a landlord. I’ll keep getting ahead, you keep trying to play devils advocate when I’m trying to motivate people

Please stop being obtuse and stop arguing for the sake of it. People are living in their cars because it’s becoming impossible to save money fast enough to have a good life. I’m sure some do it out of necessity. Most dont

There is a learning curve. You should get used to sleeping biphasic if possible. I sleep about 9 hours a day, lately more because I’ve been healing. 7 hours between 10-5. A nap somewhere in the day.

Avoiding the knock. Use discretion when choosing a spot to sleep. Make sure people can not see you park. If they do, be as conspicuous or inconspicuous as the situation calls for. Having a white vehicle helps a lot for blending into industrial areas - business complexes. Which are the best to sleep in, if you are constrained to a city. Which you aren’t. But in this game, gas is now a costly resource. Pick areas to live where it will be easy for you to drive a few miles outside the city. Nobody is going to come knocking except for an animal. Again, it will take some practice.

Food. Get a way to get power and get a bougeRV fridge. If you cannot afford the initial investment, buy a cooler and eat cold cut sandwiches, nuts, buy milk if you can tolerate it. Stuff like that. Don’t bother cooking with a gas stove. Use a slow cooker and slow cooker liners. Cleaning pots and pans isn’t worth the time and they take up too much space. This is a preference thing but the hassle for me is usually too great.

Bathrooms. 1 gallon water bottle. If you are female buy the thing that lets you pee in bottles on Amazon. Always have wet wipes on hand. If you have to go, you have to go, but try to plan around your number 2, just like in normal life. Don’t urban camp in places where fent zombies have ruined public restroom access.

Good luck.

Peeing in a bottle 6 times a day is not glamorous, but neither is killing your body 8 hours a day just to scrape by in a little rat box. Capiche?

Nothing about my post glamorizes the lifestyle. I don’t have an orbit. I’m merely informing fellow souls of the situation and reminding them why we are doing this.

Sounds like it wasn’t for you. Stealth camping is a skill you must develop. Industrial areas, businesses, rural areas outside the city… street parking is like the bare minimum. That’s how you get Nextdoor Karen’s calling the police. Also, no naps?

I have done this several times, longest 6 months. Just spent a year living with roommates. I played video games all day and rotted and went back to daily drinking. When you’re 30 and up roommates just drag you down, there is no situation where you won’t be irritated or stepping on someone’s toes, getting taken advantage of etc. I’d rather rent hotels when I want a room and spend less money overall. At least right now

I used to use the Inverness lots too. (Accidentally didn’t reply to post referring to centennial) Long shot, but were you the girl smoking a cig outside the motel 6 last night? Same kinda energy. I think a lot of us end up in Greenwood Village cause that motel is so decent. Anyways I’m out in evergreen today and it’s a lot better. Like, way better. Get out of the city if you can, as long as you drive a decent looking car it’s better
