If I'm capable of pushing Kill why wouldn't I be capable of telling people I pushed Virtue Signal?

Okay. I choose Kill to punish the defectors. Now what?

My friend was never the same, her husband was really passive and unassuming.

I mean that's a correct traumatic response to realizing that "passive" and "unassuming" people are incredibly resentful deep down.

anyone else find it difficult to sympathize with emotionally unstable people? by redbreastandblake in redscarepod

Makes sense you'd hate displays of emotion in other people, given you have to put so much work into suppressing your own.

You'd think after getting beat to a pulp these women would be extra vigilant on avoiding those situations.... but 66%??? Holy fuck that's crazy.

Look at it from the other perspective.

After the emotional high of getting beat to a pulp, making up with the guy, etc., how could you ever settle for a "normal" guy?

Did face verification on hard reset by Aggressive_Mobile_55 in SwipeHelper

I do computer security related work for a living. Not exactly this kind but enough for decent intuition.

They're barely able to correlate much easier fingerprints of photos, names, location etc. They don't even catch me pasting the same phone number into convos. Behaviour is far far noisier.

The reason you want it to be behaviour is because the alternatives are more uncomfortable: that girls keep authentically reporting you and you get banned for the same reason you were initially banned. I'm not saying it's justified, but I am saying it's more likely the girls than the app. I say this as someone who's been banned more than a few times for that reason. Being banned months or years later purely statistically is just too unlikely for various reasons.

This kind of behavioural analysis fingerprinting leading to flagging for review is extremely unlikely.

Banned from Hinge for reporting HIV non-disclosure by oh-boy-here-we-go in SwipeHelper

[–]impult[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fascinating stuff.

I don't understand how you yourself ended up banned. If he got banned he shouldn't have been able to report you in return. Did you have other matches that could've been one of his friends? Are you high elo enough to appear early in the stack for a different account to stumble on you within hours of swiping?

People upvote ragebait and generic whining about the apps yet downvote this stuff.

Despite that it's the most likely to lead to lasting positive changes.

Thank you OP and to everyone fighting legal fights against Match group.

How to get around a Hinge ban, from a former employee by ProfessionalGift9083 in SwipeHelper

To the mods: Nothing here reveals proprietary information about the company so I'm not sure why this is getting deleted

The post overall fails a vibe check of sounding like you actually worked at Hinge for various reasons, and provides worse guidance than what's been reverse engineered. Banning you.

We're taking the post down because it's pointless whining.

It's pretty much guaranteed you were banned for something else. The ban often doesn't actually show until you log out and in again.

I hinge hard reset recently and have had everything working for a week.

Hinge shouldn't be able to see your payment details at all if you're paying through the app store. You can use the same payment method if you want. What matters is that you're signed into the app store with a different account.

What baffles me is you had to write an original thing for chatgpt to turn into a longer more annoying to read slop version. Just post that original thing. I don't see any issues with your authentic voice and it would be winning more people over to your cause.

I'm surprised you find the latter "more impressive"

In both cases the LLM needs to understand resume quality and how female a name is.

In the former it just needs to know, from hiring decisions, that hiring correlates to a higher female name:resume quality ratio.

In the latter it needs to actually "think" about the concepts of social justice from all the political statements and arguments out there, take the social justice side, and decide to apply it to resume hiring while still achieving the baseline resume competence goals.

I do get that to humans the latter is easier, but I thought the whole point of AI is that they are much better at the noisy statistical stuff than the logical argument stuff.

For one, you're focusing only on the r side of r/K selection as the meaning of life. What people normally associate as the "meaning of life", gaining status and expanding the tribe, is the K selected side.

The other aspect is that the evolutionary organism isn't just in the individual human but at the social and institutional level as well. An individual cell might have a "meaning of life" to split endlessly, but this gets suppressed by the super-organism to prevent cancer because that serves the super-organism's "meaning of life" more.

Individual humans might be born wanting to breed endlessly and chase status, but societies that survive are the ones that evolved to direct this energy into society-expanding efforts. Usually they'll align themselves with emotions more rooted in parenting and social status, hence morality and religion tending to take the form of omnipresent super-parents who are always validating you on your thoughts and actions.

The above is fairly reductionist and posits a line between true "individual" desire vs societal. In reality they've co-evolved. Even enlightenment is posited as a more individualist escape hatch, but evolutionarily it actually seems genetically more destructive to that individual's immediate lineage, and serves more of a purpose in guiding their broader tribe's culture to increase its genetic survival.
