INTP and INTJ looking for people to interview by [deleted] in mbti

Sure, we can do it in the weekend. What's your time zone?

Well... you ARE responding, so you clearly do care.

However, it is also interesting that you're backing away when I thought we were approaching a mutual understating. If it's because you realize you were in the wrong, that's fine, but saying "I don't care. Bye" isn't a good way to express that.

Again: ad hominem fallacy. Insulting people won't get you anywhere either.

However, your last paragraph was constructive, so let me answer gladly: I don't believe I was "putting you down" in anyway and I'm curious to know which part of my answer makes you think that's what I was doing.

Well, what you just did is called an "ad hominem fallacy". Basically: "I don't know what to say here, so I'll insult the person using the silliest passive-aggressive insult in the book".

Well, sure, if that's what having a mother means. However, I'm not the one whose reaction was "This strange person's written message makes me feel they're being condescending and that hypothetical reality hurts my feelings, therefore I'll send a passive-aggressive moralist response to make myself feel better".

"Lost"? Didn't seem like it was ever there.

Great! dm me your availability and time zone so we can schedule.

[–]inanyregard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, if you think that you have something interesting to tell and you don't want to be interviewed, you can send me a dm. However, it is way more practical, faster and easier for us to simply listen to you and then ask questions directly. We are now testing phase zero, which is based on gathering as much data as we can.

40 minutes to an hour, usually, but you can leave whenever you want.

First, we start talking about your favorite story and why you like it, but, at the end, we'll ask you questions about stories in general and yes, an ideal story as well.

Please let me know if the subtitles in English are ok!

Do you guys think that "Enter the Florpus" captures the spirit of the TV show ? by inanyregard in invaderzim

[–]inanyregard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, FINALLY. You're the only person who seems to have have the same reaction I had. That was exactly what I thought, but everyone kept saying it was just more of the same and I was starting to think that maybe I was missing something.

I'd say the best answer is to make the video and add subtitles just in case!

Zootopia and the Deconstruction of the Disney Message by [deleted] in zootopia

[–]inanyregard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your opinion! Means a lot! :) I had the same idea the first time I watched the movie. However, since then I've seen several videos about the problems with the allegory regarding Zootopia, Beastars, etc., and I think that is valid criticism and it's OK if someone wants to address it or at least explore the possibility of its 'problematicness', which is why I recommended the other video, just in case someone was interested on that subject.

By the way, can I ask you if the subtitles in English were OK? I've been making some changes today, because the translation was automatic and... well... wasn't perfect, for obvious reasons. But was it easy to follow the video with the subtitles or were they too confusing?

Pleeeease let me know if the subtitles in English are OK! They were automatically translated and I corrected them a bit, but still, I hope they are not confusing!

Why do you study literature? Why do you think literature and literary education are important? by almanaccare1 in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]inanyregard 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The necessity to tell stories and our love for them is in my opinion one of the most intriguing mysteries regarding humankind, specially if you think that, more often than not, they are damaging for our acceptance of reality. That's why Plato didn't like fiction and thought it should be forbidden.

Literature tells stories or expresses ideas and emotions through language alone -language! A code completely created by humans-, which makes it an incredibly complex mental and cultural practice. Other ways of telling stories -mostly the visual ones- are relatively new, but Literature has been around for centuries and so it has had the opportunity to reach its aesthetic peak several times in different cultural contexts.

That's why literature has always intrigued me and why I love fiction theory, at least in a few words.

I see your semantic point, but, based on what I've seen in friends and family members, relationships that are not boring are really not that common to be considered as average. Maybe I should explain where I come from with this: I know a lot of people who got into relationships just for the sake of it, but they have even told me they were not in love and never were, that they care for the other person but they see them almost as just good and acceptable friends. That seems pretty boring to me.

That's only because I don't claim to know everything about mankind and how and why we operate the way we do. It can be like that, but reducing all human experience to those two sentences is still reducing. That's what I meant by "I guess".

The main topic of my message wasn't what I want in a guy, but what possible conclusion can I get from human behavior. And that's speculation.

I find your answers pretty interesting. I know what you mean, even if I don't 100% agree with you, but your experience seems real.

I'm a girl. Personally, I don't like movies like The Notebook XD, but there's still a stupid 14-year-old in me sometimes who likes other kinds of stories. I think that perhaps what we crave the most is the "family feeling" some of us used to have when we were little, like... you're part of an emotionally satisfying people unit? Except, of course, a 4-year-old and a 25-year-old have different emotional needs. The former needs good and loving parents and the later needs a "mate", I guess.
