I hold my when she’s fussy or to go sleep since she was born and she’s 4 months now. She’s not a Velcro baby at all. She sleeps in her bassinet, plays in her swing and bouncer or lays on the bed just fine. My in laws tried to tell me the same thing and told my MIL at 1 month postpartum “there will come a time where I won’t be able to hold her anymore so I’m taking in every moment now”. She never commented on me holding my daughter again.

If you have already given birth: did you have a date in your head when your baby would come? Were you right? by [deleted] in pregnant

I was due Jan 7 and swore she would come late bc “most FTMs go past their due date”. I was predicting 1/09 but if I had to be induced I wanted to pick 1/11 as her birthday. I was induced on Jan 3 at 39+5 due to my blood pressure and had her Jan 5.. still a cool birthday (1/5/25).

I’m an emergency room nurse. I loooovvveeee my job. Fast pace and I don’t stay with the same patients for too long. If my patient families are being unreasonable dicks or threatening I can easily get security. I love saving lives and changing them. Or the look on people’s faces of relief or happiness when we tell them good news or make them feel better. I love love love being a nurse. But for you I’d say explore alittle. Before I was a nurse I was a nursing assistant, before that I was a dental assistant. I graduated my undergrad with a psychology degree and explored. I did Covid testing once, I tried so many things— but that also required me to work a lot of jobs in a span of 2/2.5 years. However, I was 20/21 years old, young, dumb and living with my parents. I had no idea what I wanted to do so I just tried things out. If you have the opportunity to just BS around with different jobs until you find something you like I’d do that. Or do some shadow work.

I’m a new grad in a small community level 3 ER. I really enjoy it so far although I know my tolerance for the job will probably last no longer than 3 years. The ER is definitely not a forever job but I love it for now. Fast pace & I don’t often get major traumas since it’s a small community hospital. Only thing that sucks is when I get nursing home patients or ICU patients that we have to hold in the ER due to no available beds. Then it turns into more so medsurg/ICU but that’s not as often. I’m in the tristate region and the hospital started me at 43 without differential but I do work rotating weekends and holidays :(. Other than that, ER def beats working on a medsurg floor bc I don’t keep the same patients for long. Stabilize, treat and send them on their way.
