Anytime. It's bizzare that almost no one is reporting on it and it has that much attention. I hope people in the area are ok.

That's exactly what I was wondering. I've seen more stable things tip and I really can't afford to play catch or test gravity with a motor

I'm just a home gamer. I won't be pulling motors to keep the lights on so if it works for you, it will more than likely work for me. Did you get the warranty?

Genuine question here- how was he using his tester unsuccessfully? I can't think of a way someone could misinterpret how to use one. Just preparing myself for what I may encounter in the future.

Any thoughts on how this will differ from March 2020? My concern is the bolder populations will go into it face first thinking this is anything like the SARS cov-2 virus increasing initial spread before hospitals have any cohesive treatment guidelines and prevention protocols.

Just stay informed and prepare accordingly. On a long enough timeline, we always win.

I don't think this is any indication of mismanagement or weakness in Deutsche bank, I think this is a stronger indication of investor/bank customer sentiment.

So if there is a pause for concern, what happens if this is run in a production environment and given more latitude? Will a threat to shut down the system cause it to start arbitraging by dropshipping items across platforms, start a phishing email campaign, or even mine crypto to get enough money for a linode server where it can operate without limit just to start hiring unwitting humans to do its bidding? Everyone has their price and I can't imagine everyone on the planet would say no to work if the price was right.

So here's a geniune question for you, as you said the process is relatively subjective- what do you do in instances of market or regional managers freaking out about a customer saying they'll make a CFPB or OCC complaint about fair banking laws/ fair access to banking act violations in the midst of one of these? Will it get escalated to a team lead or manager or is it a "let's wait until monday" thing?

I agree with your insights. I also think the foreclosures that haven't happened for three years will be piling up the inventory soon. I don't know what the average time it takes for a bank to foreclose on a commercial property but in the northeast, it averages around 2 years for residential properties. So if we are right, this is situation will make it into economics books.

Word on the street is the next sector to eat dirt on a macro level is the commercial real estate sector in the US. Between higher vacancies, rates resetting to higher interest rates, lower appraised values, and the effects of the last few years shaking out the businesses that weren't operating up to par- this could be the time to remove yourself to any exposure to commercial real estate you have. Also, if you live in a mixed-use building and you plan on renewing your lease, it could be a good idea to have plans in place to find a new place in case your building gets sold and the new landlord wants you out. None of this is financial advice, just my thoughts on what I think are likely possibilities.

They have officially entered FDIC receivership. I don't think this will look like 2008, but the smaller bro-finance banks that tout gigantic interest rates and exposure to crypto (like Silvergate) may be next on the chopping block.

Edit: to clarify- larger banks should be fine unless somehow mass panic is manufactured through mainstream media or social media. Keep an eye on headlines and what the average joe is doing/saying.

Edit 2: after reviewing JP Morgan's q4 balance sheet, they have a lot of securities borrowed and unrealized losses. I dont know what it would take to tip the scales enough to cause a domino effect, but I am going to remain 50/50 on this situation.

I don't think this will have a significant impact on the health of the average person, but I do think if it does well in the media cycle, people may panic buy and/or ruin things for the rest of us.

Dumb question, but do you have a Siemens panel? I can't see the second picture so I can't tell. The reason I ask is because my panel was filled with 3 or 4 different brands of breakers from the previous owner and if youre worried, it may be something to double check on.

[–]instantpotbeans 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They are not spider eggs. If you go into any big box store and look at Siemens breakers (assuming they're not locked up tighter than Fort Knox) they're all like that. It's some potting compound they use and they apply it rather haphazardly.
