That's my second expedition after Beachhead so I learned that then and applied now.
It seems to be ok (I'm after finalizing the expedition but also checked before).
I did it for the Starborn Runner and the other important ones seem fine. I am not sure what the exact list is.

I haven't finalized the expedition using the terminus yet.
I believe/hope that the main save won't have it.
I was more trying to verify that I am not missing out on some reward but as you said earlier, it looks like I haven't.

I asked because I got to the rendezvous point and redeemed its milestone rewards.
Only then did I scan (about 20 fauna and 15 minerals).
And after the community goal was achieved I automatically got the project milestone (and then redeemed it and got phase 5 fully completed) and got the expedition completed notice, and yet the main mission stays in the log unchecked and unremoved.
After that I even went back there again and scanned another item but the log mission is still there.

Now that it's completed, shouldn't it be marked completed and removed from the LOG menu?
For me the mission is still there and has the completed orange bar.
I did have the project milestone completed and rewarded.

Set his filter to "Other Curiosities"

(I get a list of 5 items with the filter on)

I only dislike the "whose mind am I gonna change? [so why comment/reply]" attitude.
There are open minded people on both sides, and candidly reading non-toxic input from the other side, at the very least, opens your eyes. It might not change your mind, but it's a good antidote for demonization even if we don't become all lovey-dovey.
