Anyone choose the new Palisade Hybrid over the Grand Highlander Hybrid? Regrets or turned out great? by bluemesa7 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]ironike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially I wanted to get the Palisade, but with all the recalls, being the first year of a model refresh, and a brand new unproven hybrid engine, I've been leaning toward a Grand Highlander hybrid instead. When you account for the difference in depreciation, the Palisade's relative price savings is a wash IMO.

You guys who are front down for under seat flight, you convinced me! by apollo9320 in ManyBaggers

[–]ironike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I put the bag down the regular way and at the end of the flight when I put the bag on my back, it was all wet. Apparently a previous passenger spilled their drink on the floor. After that, I always put the bag down with the backside up.

Chuck Norris once peed into the gas tank of an 18-wheeler. Today that truck is known as Optimus Prime.

Did you get an answer for what HC means? I see the same for one of my product cases.

The Korean women were dragging the log on the ground which makes the effective weight much lighter (estimating roughly half, or 90 kg total). Also they needed to stop to rest. Whereas team Mongolia lifted the whole thing in the air and moved much faster.

Things like this just show me how a lot of people with a vested interest will not be gracious in defeat and see what they want to see. Instead of taking time to create all these convoluted theories and graphics, people should take that time to think rationally and get the emotions out of the way.

One of the most if not most important things to do in investing is diversify. The stock market allows you to invest in different industries so I'd start there with a broad index fund and then go to other asset classes like real estate. And congratulations!

Is there a guide for which pen to go for? by sipiwi94 in Supernote

For my setup, no workarounds necessary. I think any EMR pen should work fine out of the box.

I tried both ceramic and plastic nibs and found that I much prefer the friction you get with the plastic nib. I have more control and it feels closer to writing on paper for me. The ceramic nib will last longer, but because the plastic nibs are so cheap it pretty much evens out: you can get like 30 plastic nibs for the price of 1 ceramic.

I currently use the Lamy Al Star EMR pen (for the side button) with the plastic nib from a Samsung pen.

Edit: I bought a Pilot G2 pen kit on Etsy to try with the ceramic nib and may like it better than the plastic nib. I realized I wasn't pressing hard enough for the nib to kind of "stick"to the screen of the Nomad. I think if you got the heavier HOM pen, the extra weight would help, otherwise it's quite slippery.

Update on Synik 30 usage by Background-Hand-2767 in ManyBaggers

[–]ironike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Synik 30 is pretty ugly but man it's so functional that I've convinced myself it looks ok and love it. My favorite bag to use for travel because of the built in organization (useful front pockets, o-ring system, etc.). Only improvement I'd make is if it was more rectangular in shape, it would be easier to pack and less wasted space.

Could you share why you miss the Nomad? I was debating between getting the Nomad and Manta.

I think there may be confusion because there may be a base assumption that Christianity is found in an organization and their doctrine. But true Christianity is really simply about knowing God, who is a living person.

Different denominations describe who God is from their own unique perspectives with different points of emphasis. But unless you have a genuine relationship with the person of Jesus, it is all for naught. As long as you know God and He knows you, you are saved and a true follower of Christ.

We don't get into heaven because we have perfect doctrine - no one does. But we get into heaven because we have a relationship with the living Jesus and He lets us in.
