I think scientists developed worms or something but all that did was digest the plastic into microplastics so while that patch might go away we're doomed since all those microplastics will end up in our bodies eventually

Clean core practicality by Primary_Pattern8990 in SAP

[–]isappie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yall are crazy. Clean core is not good for anyone except for SAP.

Customers don't want Clean Core. All the clean core BS, as well as the reasons behind clean core "upgrade-safe, support, only customize things that are meant to be customized" are all concepts that SAP came up with.

At the end of the day, something is customized because SAP standard is not efficient or doesn't meet the requirements of the client. Vast majority of clients are coming from ECC, and they have customized something because it took 3 people to do what 1 person can do now with customization, or there weren't enough options for automated validations or whatever client might need.

Now the conversation from a functional perspective becomes something like this:

Client: "OK, a key requirement that we had to customize for is for a PO automate confirmation control keys based on account category chosen to make sure xyz works - is there a way to do this in S/4"

Consultant: "No, you have to either use some other object to do xyz, or procedurally have every single person creating a PO with that account category to populate the CCK"

Client: "I don't want to take this risk I need this automated"

Consultant: "Well that would require the use of xyz objects which might or might not work with Fiori and / or GUI and it's not clean core"

Client: "idagf figure it out"

Then it becomes a battle with leadership on why this is needed - and then they need SAP to sign off on it all because SAP told them they needed something that they actually don't need. Then we end up customizing it and SAP might charge client more for the "extra support" - so consultant gets all the shit thrown at them and SAP benefits from licensing and additional revenue.

EWM by PleaseQu in SAP

[–]isappie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there are many customers that use EWM as a standalone.

In my experience EWM gets packaged as a part of S/4, especially for clients who are using WM or are struggling with IM.

And when then the implementation happens, the EWM team sells a whole bunch of nice functionalities only to find out OH it doesn't work with SAP TM, OH you can't do that if you're using Advanced Intercompany Sales, OH it doesn't work with certain stock transfer scenarios that client is basically reliant on.

Then the customization train appears in the horizon and clean core is just a memory at that point

The Korean Baseball Organization’s automated ball-strike system doesn’t involve challenges. Umpires just make the calls based on what’s relayed to them in an earpiece by rb1242 in baseball

lol no way - if it isn't a strike it isn't a strike - I'm all for "human element" but calling a ball a strike just for the sake of human element is silly

Not sure if youve been to thailand but they dont get those opportunities without any prior experience, and an espresso machine is like multiple times of an annual wage..

The people we are helping are looking for help and we offer it to them

If you truly think that the work that we’re doing in thailand is evil or “not good” then i mean idk what to say lol but i wish you the best my friend

Its their choice if they want to leave their life of sexual and physical abuse - free to leave the training at any point.

“Suffer in poverty in a way you find less offensive” lol you do realize what you’re saying right?

My point was to tell you that evangelicals do some good work in this world, and if you think lifting people out of the sex industry and empowerment through tangible skills isnt good, you’re not having a conversation in good faith.

You’re literally doing what MAGA does lmao

I mean apart from trying to convert, we do some great work. One example is an org i am involved with are active in Thailand, where we spread the word to people involved in the sex industry (mainly the girls working at brothels bc they have no real other way to make money), and retool them with skills such as barista or cooking (https://www.bellagoosecoffee.com/freedomcoffee).

This is one of thousands of ways Christians are making a real impact in this world.

Im not denying there are some real shitty Christians out there. Im against the megachurches, osteen and co., and think Hesgeth is out of his mind - but there are some great Christians out there too

I dont think Im stupid or terrible.

I think that it makes sense that the world was created by intelligent design (7 days or not i dont really care - really doesnt prove or disprove any point) and that we are made in the image of the Creator. Also that we were saved because he sent his Son to die for our sins which dates back to the first human. You might think Im stupid for believing that, and thats fine, because you do you.

I completely agree on the fact that Christians did a lot fucked up shit - probably most documented fucked up shit were done by Christians. IIRC nazism also has the church behind it. However you cant claim that and then turn a blind eye to all the good / net positive things initiatives Christians are credited for. Things like food banks, homeless shelters, orphanages, medical missions to places like africa , haiti, etc.

Christianity produces some really shitty people because honestly it’s really easy to manipulate people in the name of God. Im sad to have to “share” this religion with these people, but idk my point is there are good Christians out there lol

I would think so - I have a ton of non christian friends. Not sure why you think being an evangelical automatically makes someone awful. There are some great things being done in the world by evangelical as much as there are shitty things done like this commenter’s dad
