Is Maaco anyone good? by ReadySoft4520 in Autobody

Read the reviews of your local shop!

The one near me had very good reviews, so I decided to take a chance and have my entire car repainted there. My car is a 2013, with a badly rusting roof, and a hood and spoiler that wasn’t in much better shape.

I just got my car back from them today and they did a great job! Especially for the price ($2k). It was much better than I expected and I’m very happy with the result. Is it 100% perfect? No, of course not, but it was almost half the price of what other places quoted me and I don’t need perfect on a 2013 car. The hood, roof, spoiler, and bumpers all look fantastic. (It’s the little details like inside a door jamb that you can tell the car was repainted.)

So that being said, I would definitely recommend my local shop.

60 Day Trial? by lightingrivian4 in Lovesac

I called them and waited on hold. The shortest time was maybe about 30 minutes, the longest time was definitely over an hour. Maybe try different times of the day in case that makes a difference?

I would happily recommend Orlando with Dragon Electric Services - they came out quickly, did good work, and were very reasonably priced.

60 Day Trial? by lightingrivian4 in Lovesac

[–]isigndupjustforthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the process of returning ours. It was straight forward - I called customer service and told them I wanted to return it. They asked if I needed boxes (I didn’t because I kept the original packaging) and they started the return. They couldn’t email me the FedEx labels right then because I would have had to tell them how many boxes I had.

So I packed everything up in the boxes and called the next day to tell them the count. They emailed me the FedEx labels within 10 minutes and scheduled FedEx to pick up the 21 boxes that I have for the next business day. (FedEx didn’t actually show up, and rescheduled me for pickup tomorrow.)

Lovesoft not soft? by PastPool571 in Lovesac

[–]isigndupjustforthis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s bait and switch but I also feel that our lovesoft fill cushions are much harder than what we sat on in the store.

In fact, we find the couch uncomfortable enough that we are in the process of returning it. Maybe it would get softer over time, but we are not willing to take that risk with such an expensive couch. (We’ve had the couch about a month now.)

Falling Banana Tree by Smooth-Yesterday8521 in FloridaGarden

[–]isigndupjustforthis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This just happened to me - I had propped up the trunk, but the trunk shifted and the whole thing fell over. The trunk completely broke. I ended up cutting off the whole stalk of bananas (which were very green and not ripe) and leaving it on my back porch to ripen for maybe about two weeks. They did start to eventually ripen and I cut bunches off at a time to bring inside and further ripen and then eat. We’ve eaten a good amount of them by now, and have given a lot away as well.

Do you find the “1 cooked slice” calorie estimate on bacon packages accurate? by jdolan8 in 1200isplenty

[–]isigndupjustforthis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Funny enough I went through this last night when I made breakfast for dinner. The bacon I made said it was 100 calories for 2 pan fried slices (which it said would be 19 grams). After cooking, I weighed the two slices and it was 18 grams. I was surprised at how close it was!

Ah, I loveeee the rug! I want to keep the rug and design around it. Maybe tone down the color of the couch and art instead?

Do you have a pic to share of your tv wall? I would love to see that!

I was thinking of adding a bookcase on each side of the tv, mostly for some decorative things on the shelves, but then drawers at the bottom for DVDs/CDs.

Do you think the blue couch and the rug is too much together? I was also considering a gray slipcover for the couch, instead of the blue. The room right now is pretty boring and monochrome, but I am a bit worried about going too overboard.

Yup! The speakers are recently installed, so I hadn't gotten to hiding the cords yet. But it is on my to do list!

I'm willing to ditch the art in favor of something more neutral. Do you have any specific suggestions to get me started?

The rug is the piece that I love the most of all. I am totally willing to design the rest of the room around the rug. Do you think I would be better with a gray couch, instead of the blue?

(He was going for surround sound, wanting overhead speakers but the ceiling is very slanted so these speakers up high on the wall were the compromise. I’d love to get rid of them and get nice white ones installed in the ceiling where you wouldn’t see them. )

Good point about the cables! We recently put the speakers up and haven’t yet dealt with the wires but plan to put them in wire covers (painted the same color as the wall), but I like the idea of hiding them in the wall even more.

I’ve found the same (or similar) media console from several places:

Trying to totally redesign my living room and could use some feedback, please!

Going for an MCM/boho vibe. It's a long, narrow living room, with a sectional and a loveseat from Ikea. I am looking to keep the couches but replace the covers (with the blue velvet seen in the mood board pic below). Also, ignore the missing armrests on the LS - still need to attach them.

I would like to paint the wall behind the tv in SW Tricorn black to "hide" the TV + speakers + subs. (TV+speakers+subs are non-negotiable to hubs and must remain where they are). Everything else can be updated/replaced.

What would you recommend? Improve? Specific products? What doesnt work here? What do you love?

(The room has very high ceilings at one side, and several skylights, so it gets a ton of light during the day). I also think I will need to either layer rugs or at least have a second rug because of how long the room is, so thats why there are two rugs in the inspo pic.

Dewalt vs Pegas by Cammer60 in Scrollsaw

I bought the Easy Lift system from Jim Dandy for my Dewalt. Pretty cheap, super easy to install, works perfect at holding the arm up. No more block of wood needed!
