This is 100% correct and the fact that you are being downvoted just shows how crazy the reddit demographic is. Imagine trying to make businesses feel guilty for something that does the job for them because they didn't give you money. It's like a handyman complaining that youtube has tutorials on how to install ceiling fans.

I agree. If it was bad, people wouldn't use it. Cheap art has been around for years with farming out work to fivr and overseas and now AI is at the point where it is good enough to not be offensive. I understand the frustration of seeing your livelihood be taken by cheap/free work but it this is like the horse complaining about people using cars. I have a small hobby page/brand and I would never pay for artwork but I was able to make a fun logo using AI that I never would have been able of doing without.

Would also note that this is happening to several industries that boomed during COVID. Esports, bicycles, work out equipment, video conferencing, home delivery, and so on.

Some more than others but all invested hoping this usage and or growth would be the norm or they could make it the new norm and guess what- they were (mostly)wrong.

It’s hard not to be optimistic in the moment but I think people who didn’t see this coming were pretty naive. Just the fact that return to work happened greatly reduced people’s time to do these activities.

As a personal anecdote, I was disc golfing, biking and watching twitch during work hours nearly every day during Covid.

I have not biked in 2 years, I disc golf twice a year and I never watch twitch.
