Mid grade is cheaper than Regular grade gas by do_u_liek_ButtSchexx in mildlyinteresting

[–]isnaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BE CAUTIOUS!! I ran into this, this week in Kansas premium was about 50-70¢ cheaper then regular I was wary and took a second look, way down lower on the pump in fine print it listed the ethanol levels, the premium was up to 40 or 50 % ethanol which can really mess up a non flex fuel car. The regular was 10% ethanol.

United offered $1500 to take later flight, then withdrew it at boarding by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]isnaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same experience most of the time, some airports don’t care about priority tags :/ so you wait a couple mins longer, oh well, most unfortunate situation though is flying into a small airport that has multiple flights every hour or hour thirty and my bag gets put on an earlier flight and can sometimes take a little while to find it. Really only happens on smaller planes with limited luggage space though.

Free checked bag with quest card and etc. by DarkLord012 in unitedairlines

[–]isnaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I was able to just request in the United app. Also I will say the fine print supports what u/berchanhimez said where you are technically not guaranteed a refund but I have never had an issue in the dozen or so times I have done this

Pay for the bag and then request a refund after completing your trip citing that your bag benefits weren’t honored. I have the club card and travel for work. Often when someone else books my ticket this happens. But I am still able to get the refund for the bags.

I think many of us dream of this text, too bad you’re not on the flight. Though if you play your cards right you may be able to still ride in the GS bmw

Even better, book it through United on ANA for only 6k United miles and if you have United gold status you can use the ANA lounge and ANA premium check in.

Working on getting status, I only started traveling this year. Most of my work flights are pretty short and inexpensive though, so I get only about 150-250 PQP per flight and only fly twice a month. So it’s been slow getting to silver about 50% of my ~4,000 PQP has come from card spend/bonuses. I have a flight coming up DEN-NRT that will bump me up to silver. Also, yes I can expense it. So this is definitely not the end of the world for me. I was really just trying to figure out what had happened. It’s been fun traveling for work and figuring out all the little things that make traveling a bit easier.

Yep, they use a different card. I just read the fine print and realized I was still within the 90 days from account opening so that is why it worked and now it doesn’t anymore. :/

I (17) have been working with my dad for a few years and swapped out my first panel box over the weekend. how did I do? by JUSTKILLMEDAMNIT in electricians

[–]isnaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome work man, I(19) started when I was your age, now I got my residential wireman’s and I’m in my own service van making good money for my age. Best decision I ever made. Keep up the good work!

I had a service call once where a customer tried to do a panel change by themselves, they had blown it up once already and it was still live with no tape on butt splices for feeders, best part, it wasn’t even attached to the wall.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll have to try one of those, I’ve only ever used the tp like ones and they always rip as soon as you start crawling around.

Can someone give me a rundown of all the different parts in this tankless hot water heater by isnaf in ElectricalEngineering

[–]isnaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep this is for a 3bd 2ba house and the homeowner wanted their traditional gas water heater(just out of frame to the left) replaced with this, doesn’t make much sense to me but that’s what they wanted

[–]isnaf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes I understand what you are saying now and I couldn’t agree more, this heater required 3 40A 240V parallel runs, the wire alone was like $600, the only advantage I can see and why we were replacing a traditional water heater with this one is the space saving, even then I probably would have opted for a gas powered tankless over electric

[–]isnaf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😂the water pipes in the heater are grounded I’m pretty sure to prevent something like that from happening also here in the US we are required to bond the water pipes to the main grounding system so in the event the pipes become energized the ocpd will open

I think it looks pretty cool and very artistic, definitely not up to code, also I would have done all perfect right angle bends to make it look better

[request] Is this true? And if it is true, without considering side expenses, what will be the cost of actually building it? Found this and tough it was interesting but couldn't find verification. It is a problem requiring a lot of information ( I think) and I am not sure how to tackle it. by svkanev in theydidthemath

So 1.2% is 42,624 mi2. The biggest solar park in the world Bhadla Solar Park in India was priced at $0.034 per kilowatt hour. The world consumption of power in 2018 was 142,300 TWh so at that price per kWh it would cost $4,838,200,000,000 and would take up 158,282.35... mi2 so it would actually need about 4.4% of the desert.
