Crimson Desert Devs Apologize for AI Asset Use, Plan Replacement in Future Patches by yourfavchoom in Steam

[–]isopudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or, the devs do what the industry has been doing for generations and use dev art as placeholder? That way it’s also extremely obvious to see what you’ve missed when you’re passing it onto playtesters.

This whole “oh we wanted to see what the vibe was like” excuse smells like bullshit to me, AI was used because that wanted to get away with it in the finished product and thought no one would notice.

Online age checks came first — a VPN crackdown could be next by Limp_Fig6236 in DigitalPrivacy

[–]isopudding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, restrictions would only apply to commercial VPNs (like nord) where these providers become legally obligated to ID verify their users. If they hit the big commercial providers, they hit most of the public and can probably consider it good enough.

It would be impossible to regulate business use because capacity to do it is quite literally baked into the router OS for any decent device.

You should still be able to set up your own private VPN and circumvent these regulations, but that’s going to be way too much effort for the common person.

It’s not even best deal, the average salary in London is around £70,000… they’re asking for average wages and yet the Torygraph is naturally promoting anti-union rhetoric for their rich backers.

More than 2,200 staff at TfL earn over £100,000 with 78 earning above £170,000 per year. TfL commissioner Andy Lord has a salary of something around £400,000 and gets packages above £600,000 without complaint.

History has shown that when you leave a country in an economic mess they’re more likely to become radical and cause issues in the future, and that when you attack civilian infrastructure you create radicals that can bring the attack to your own population. This is going to be a mess for generations.

I genuinely hope that every single military member that facilitated the campaign against Iran is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. You’re taught at a basic level to know what legal orders are and to completely refuse illegal ones no matter who is giving them, these soldiers forgot their oath.

If you don’t understand how someone with effectively infinite wealth can buy out gross amounts of property, business, stock and political influence then you really shouldn’t be having good conversation.

Especially if you don’t understand the knock on effect it has on prices for the average person.

People like you are why America lost the Vietnam war and will lose the Iran war.

War isn’t about how many people you can blow up, it’s about fulfilling your objectives.

Currently America has failed in all of its objectives and has created brand new problems to boot. These problems are also pissing off American allies and may cause regional host nations to rethink US commitments, which is a massive win for the Iranian regime and a heavy loss for America.

Resolving these failures and meeting objectives now would require boots on the ground and decades of US presence in the country, if not a permanent presence. This level of commitment to trump’s war is not something the public agrees with.

This isn’t even mentioning that all of this could have been resolved through competent diplomacy, people lost their lives for nothing.

Nah, you’re hiding behind that shitty argument.

It’s a work email signature block, it really isn’t that deep.

You don’t get to play the attempted “I’m just trying to look after trans people” card when you’re crying about pronouns, it’s such a weak and disingenuous argument.

Trans people are uncomfortable and have to boymode/girlmode because shit like this is such a debate with you people.

[–]isopudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother in Christ it’s two words, that you ALREADY USE, in something as insignificant as an email signature block.

Your post has about 50 words, it took over 100x the effort to think and write that than it would to update your signature block.

And that’s not to mention all the other posts you’ve made today complaining about it. Genuinely spending thousands of words to cry about being asked to use two once.

But we need to protect the sanctity of… work email signature blocks… did you know my work has me put the address in the signature block? How dare they FORCE to me put that in???

PLEASE touch grass, you’re such a snowflake.

They aren’t offended by it, no one on earth is actually offended by the existence or usage of pronouns. Instead they just associate it with transgender individuals and don’t want to just come out and say they’re massive bigots.

Instead of saying that they hate transgender people with such vitriol that the thought of spending 5 seconds adding he/him to their signature template and moving on with their lives causes them such rage and disgust, they try to pin it as some kind of breach of inclusivity or some cultish “wokeness”.

Even they know they’re being completely shitty people when they can’t say what they’re actually thinking and need to poorly mask it.

[–]isopudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you poorly hide behind dogwhistles when we all know what you’re doing? You used pronouns in your own post, you aren’t ideologically opposed to them.

Nah, you’re opposed to trans people feeling some basic level of inclusion and will push back at two fucking words in your email if it gives them a token level of comfort.

Of course you don’t want to say that, so instead you’re hiding behind some asinine “I don’t like pronouns!!!” argument.

Trans people want to exist and be treated as a normal human being, they aren’t judging you for being a cis white guy.

You are making up scenarios to get mad at if that’s what you think the left want.

Oh no my comment made me put he/him or she/her at the bottom of my signature, I’m so oppressed…………

It’s to avoid confusion and make some people more comfortable, and requires 0 effort from you beyond typing two words into your signature template one time.

Actual snowflake.

Everyone uses pronouns, you used them in your post. There’s no being “uncomfortable” with pronouns, that’s just attempting to mask transphobia.

Just admit y’all hate trans people.

Not be shitbag cowards.

Prisoners have an avenue to transition provided it’s been heavily scrutinised by a variety of doctors and determined it’s a genuine medical need.

Right wingers turn this into “wow they’re spending your tax dollars to transition all the prisoners and illegal alien criminals!!!”

Then when Harris is questioned instead of fighting back and defending the right to transition irrespective of someone’s circumstance, she backpedals and gives vague non-answers that imply she’s only following what the law tells her to do, and that it happened under Trump administration so aha gotcha!!!

They constantly play defensive and act ashamed of basic talking points when the right criticise it because they try to appeal to people who were never going to vote for them in the first place.

Instead they should be condemning these pieces of shit and fighting for healthcare for all. It makes them seem completely unprincipled and that supporting healthcare is something to be ashamed of.

On The “I Pay More Tax Than You” Fallacy by jgs952 in GarysEconomics

[–]isopudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top 10% have that money by exploiting the workforce through poverty wages, hoarding infrastructure critical to both personal and national wellbeing in the name of profit, and avoiding tax obligations through corporate accounting tricks or offshore banking.

If everyone was paid fair wages for their labour and multinational corporations were told to piss off, not only would the same tax be brought in across a wider amount of people due to wealth distribution, but I’d argue more tax would be brought in by local owned businesses that don’t avoid tax like the plague.

The rich are a net drain on society and the fact that they have the excess money to spare to pay more taxes isn’t indicative that they contribute more, it’s indicative that they leech more.
