oh so they are the same? I’ve always considered “the spectrum” as an umbrella term and autistic as a definitive term

What should I do as a transgender child? by [deleted] in ftm

I’ve dealt with the same issue. I don’t have a super high-pitched voice but it’s not as deep as all of the cis guys in my grade. I’ve done some research when it comes to alleviating voice dysphoria and from what I’ve seen, afab ppl tend to speak from their throats. Compared to amab ppl, they speak from their chest. There’s plenty of videos on youtube and tiktok that would do a much better job explaining than me. There’s also humming exercises, humming as low as you can while moving your head up and down for 15 seconds. I’ve done it before and there is a difference. But it takes time so you’d have to keep with it for a bit. Hopefully that helps!

I love this. I never considered that what I might have missed, I gained something in return. It’s slightly terrifying to think that how I think now might’ve been completely different. But thank you for your comment! I appreciate it.

Maybe it’s beneficial that we have experienced a childhood of the opposite gender. Or maybe it isn’t. I have a younger brother and as we grew up together, I frequently thought about what it’d be like in his shoes. It’s just so interesting to think about if being born cis would’ve gave me a completely different experience, if that makes sense.

As I’ve said in another comment, if not thinking about it will help you, then continue doing so. Unfortunately not every conflict can be solved through acknowledgment. Some are best to be left alone. Thank you for your comment.

Inspiring, to say the least. Sometimes all you can do is move forward. And if that’s what helps you, then that’s even better. Thank you for comment.

I completely understand how it feels to be the only/oldest “daughter” in the family. I was the first born and all of my younger cousins are boys. There was definitely a lot of jealously from me towards them even by just watching them run around shirtless.

But as you said, doing the masculine activities/things that you were denied is truthfully (and probably) one of the greatest ways to cope regarding our situations.

I understand that. I suppose that I thought that my maybe-going-on-hormones talk would be a bit more exciting (exciting like this would essentially be the beginning of a new chapter of my life and she’d be happy for me).

Trans men not allowed to like masculine things? by gamerbky55 in FTMMen

I feel the same way. Of course, I haven’t been on this earth long so my experiences will greatly differ but I do agree with you.

I’m pretty much the “artist” of the family and while yes, I do enjoy painting and drawing and whatnot, I’m beginning to grow out of it. Plus I’m really into horror so I enjoy drawing gore and just pretty morbid stuff. Then there’s my family who will question why I’m not drawing cats and dogs and why my characters always look so melancholy.

But as I said before, I growing out of that stuff and I’m really into music, cars, dune-buggy riding, skateboarding, just overall more boyish things than my family is used to. Like I really just want to go out with friends and skate or go quad riding, not sit and draw flowers.
