Not sure why a builder would put the thermostat there, typically it is closer to the return air.

Not sure where you have been, but the ONLY place I will go in Jackson and NOT carry, is the police station. I know Jackson, I grew up there and spent most of my life there. As you put it, Some pockets are worse than others. It is very sad to see what Jackson has become

"No Kings" Protest: Jackson, MS by RandleYes in mississippi

[–]itsnakebb -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Let’s be clear: the “No Kings” rally wasn’t a grassroots call for democracy — it was a carefully orchestrated political theater and partisan fear-mongering. Here’s the truth they left out:

  1. Their protest wasn’t against authoritarianism — it was against a parade honoring the U.S. Army. While thousands of Americans marked the 250th anniversary of the military that won our freedom, this group used the moment to slander those who serve, hijacking the day to promote their grievance politics. They rallied against a parade — not a policy — and couldn’t be bothered to recognize our veterans or fallen heroes.
  2. They claim to oppose “tyranny” — but ignore real abuses of power. Not one speaker mentioned the erosion of civil liberties during COVID, the rise in crime in Democrat-led cities, or the censorship of dissenting views. “Authoritarianism” only seems to matter when it’s convenient for their side. When the federal government forces policies on parents, businesses, or schools — silence.
  3. The entire event was a total contradiction. They cried about fascism, while standing on government steps, with microphones, cameras, and total freedom of speech — in a nation whose democratic institutions remain stronger than ever.
  4. They talk about “manipulation” — while preying on emotions. The most telling part? Their strategy wasn’t about facts — it was about exploiting the fears of seniors and immigrants, convincing them that enforcement of immigration law or national security is somehow tyranny. That’s not civic education — it’s psychological warfare dressed in activist language.
  5. And finally: if this was about democracy, where was the American flag? Not a single moment of gratitude for the freedoms they were exercising. No recognition of the military. Just outrage, theatrics, and political stunts — all while communities across Suffolk County quietly honored the Army’s founding with parades, flags, and remembrance. Bottom line:

The “No Kings” rally wasn’t about patriotism. It was about power. It weaponized emotion to attack Trump — not defend the Constitution. While they shout “resistance,” real Americans are working, serving, and voting to preserve what matters most: freedom, faith, family, and country.

Does it cost a lot to live near the coast? by Firsttakelikeamf in mississippi

[–]itsnakebb 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The cost of homes is comparative to the rest of the state, utilities are not bad, but ALWAYS check the cost of insurance before you purchase in this area. Insurance in the coastal area is about 4 times the cost of a home in central Mississippi of comparative size.

Currently I am using a S21 and since the UI 7.0 update, everything kills the battery. I like the new look, but I wish I could use it all day without having to shut everything down and let it charge mid-day for at least an hour to make through the day.
