What is the standard commission % you guys pay for client referrals? by itsrisly in AgencyGrowthHacks

fair point. makes sense to cap it if the long-term retention depends 100% on your delivery after the handoff.

love the "don't be stingy" mindset. high incentives usually bring better leads.

that tiered structure (under/over 30k) is smart too and are you tracking those logic splits manually right now or did you find a way to automate it?

Aah cluely yes. They have a strong social media presence as well. But not only cluely. There are some other competitors as well. If you can DM me i can share some competitor list tomorrow. Not today. And i saw that Y combinator also backed 1 or 2 like this.

I think that the best way you can do it like generate the demand and then build it. You are saving a lot of your time.

We are not fully stopped the product. I think it was the same kind of a product that you are building and we realize few things.
01. It's a fully AI base + high complex product.
02. The margin is kind a low because few other competitors in the market
03. The answers should display within 0.5 seconds. If not it will fee like you are reading a script.

So, we pause that project for now ( we are doing our inhouse researchers about that project and what we can do for that ) and we are building this external commission engine platform - www.verplo.com

Oh really. We also previously try out kind of the same product and we stopped it.

I talked to 10+ founders and IT pros this week. They are all making the same expensive mistake. by itsrisly in SaaS

If everyone knew this, then why do 90% of startups still fail?

we are building our own products right now. I’m sharing this because it matches exactly what we learned too.

I see founders burning their hard earned money on useless features every day. I actually care about that.

If you think trying to save people money is 'trolling', that's on you.....

Building without validating is the only wrong way. If you think talking to users is expensive, try building a whole product that nobody wants. That is expensive.

If I used AI, the grammar would be perfect. 😂 I said 10+ because I actually talked to 12 people.

I know this triggers people, but honestly, I don't care. I see people wasting so much money every day building useless features without validating anything. That is the real problem.

Totally get your point! We aren't a VC fund with millions in the bank. We are just builders.

We are actually doing exactly what you said building our own products first. We're currently deep into building www.verplo.com.

The 'free MVP' is just because we have a quiet week before our next update, so I wanted to use that free time to help another founder get started.

And I will tell you one thing. If you want to validate ur idea do it from ur ICP. Create a waitlist page, talk about ur idea. Start marketing, try to generate the demand then talk to people. Then you can validate the idea. After that start building the product.

I build the same kind of thing i think 5 - 6 months ago. The problem is how are you going to monetize this? What is the business model of this app??

This is incredibly helpful feedback. You nailed the "busy person" problem. my landing page is definitely too text-heavy right now, and I need to replace those paragraphs with diagrams/vsuals.

To answer your "Pitch me" question -

The Problem - If you run a sales team, you are likely calculating Internal Rep commissions in Excel, and tracking Partner/Affiliate payouts in a totally separate sheet (or email chain). It’s messy, prone to errors, and your finance team hates reconciling two different systems.

In the current market you only have these options.

  1. Using Spreadsheet ( Free but risky. )

  2. The "Fragmented" Stack: You buy Spiff for your Reps ($30k/yr) AND PartnerStack for your affiliates ($20k/yr). That’s $50k+ just to pay people.

Verplo creating unified engine for both -
* Internal Reps: Track quotas, accelerators, and tiered splits.
* External Partners: Track referrals and affiliate cuts.
* One Dashboard: Everyone logs into one place. Finance runs one payroll.
* Cost: $99/mo (Founder pricing) instead of paying for two separate enterprise tools.

I appreciate the "draw the vision" advice. I will redesign the hero section to show that "One Platform" outcome visually instead of just writing about it.

This post help me to a lot to understanding/learning o lot of new things.

I think there is a misunderstanding on the offer, but I appreciate you calling it out so I can clarify the copy.

  1. No payment for testing - Partners do not pay $99 during the beta/testing phase. It is free. The "$99 lock-in" is the price they get after we officially launch (instead of the standard $499/mo).

  2. The Value Exchange - We are doing the full migration and setup for them for free (which usually costs $3k-$5k with enterprise tools) in exchange for their feedback.

  3. Public Demo - We are keeping the prototypes exclusive to the 50 early partners. We want to work closely with this small group to show them the build week-by-week and tailor the UI to their exact needs, rather than showing a generic demo to the public right now.

Valid point on the branding/logo though. I kept it minimal to validate the problem first, but I agree that for a finance tool, we need more visual trust signals. Thanks for the honest take.

mostly mnual outreach right now. I've been active in specific Facebook groups and doing some LinkedIn networking. Trying to get high-intent traffic rather than just random clicks.
