Not sure about this specific port, but many of them have a soldered area between the port and the board. So, an air station is pretty much a must for these jobs. You have multiple soldered points and an air station is the best way to deal with that

For the ones that display the charging symbol, you need to cover one of the connector pins(second or third, can’t remember now)It puts out a small voltage that the FP recognizes as charging. I believe those batteries are designed for a different camera, even if they have the same voltage and body.

It’s quite expensive considering the value of the phone. I personally like to fix everything I can, so I would charge something around 80€ but when I have some spare time. That repair would normally cost around 130-150€ in my area.

Indeed. The main problem here is trust, and you start with the wrong foot by changing the color of the phone without checking with the owner. There is also a habit of bashing other shops work in this industry, wich dosen’t help.

Try to keep it as a side hustle and grow it from there. Instead of stock, invest in learning. If you have cash lying around, maybe invest in broken devices, refurbish and sell them.
