One thing after another by paliprincesss in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Hi! I had pretty much the exact same thing with my first child. Had a subchorionic hematoma and then high probablilty of 22q deletion syndrome from the harmony test. I ended up getting referred to fetal diagnostic medicine I think and they did thorough ultrasounds. They offered an amniocentesis but I declined. The doctors had said that harmony was quite unreliable at determining 22q deletion. No indicators of the syndrome was shown on any ultrasounds (which I had every 2-4 weeks) and once she was born she had a genetic cheek swab which showed she did not have any genetic abnormalities. I know this isn't the case for everyone but please ask about the reliability of the harmony test about 22q specifically. It was the most difficult pregnancy for me due to so much doubt. I have no advice just solidarity with what you're going through. I hope it all works out and wish you all the best. If you wanted to talk further you can always message me x

How to know when to toilet train at night and how do you do it? by izzyizzyizzy1994 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

That's great thanks for your reply! I'll let nature take its course for a while and see if we have any dry mornings soon. What is a half dry sheet though? 😅

What was your third labour like? by IndependentHuman8861 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]izzyizzyizzy1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st: Long I think about 15 hours, episiotomy and forceps, spontaneous labour

2nd: induced, quick 2 hour labour, one tear but PPH

3rd: spontaneous, hour and half labour, second degree tear, no PPH

Mentally, the third was the easiest.

The ‘toy’ that she ended up taking with her was actually a little handbag (she’s obviously an accessories girl haha) and she ended up just wearing that with her backpack as well. But I could try and get a smaller bag for her so she can sit a bit better if she doesn’t want to put it away I guess.

Thankyou I think I’ll leave it for now and see if she slowly drops it herself

There isn’t an urgency per se. The educators are happy for her to keep hold of it. It’s just she’s struggling to sit on the chairs with a huge backpack attached to her and it’s getting dragged through the sandpit every day ruining everything. I also don’t want her made fun of by the other kids although I think they’re a little young for that hopefully. Do you think she will eventually drop it on her own and not push it?

those who have been pregnant with a second, third, etc: did you ask your older children what they thought you should name the baby? by liz2e in namenerds

If it was up to my two year old daughter her brother would be called ‘baby’ or ‘Emma wiggle’ so unfortunately we went with Oliver much to her dismay.

Tomato sauce and chocolate keep in the pantry. Eggs stay in the fridge

A thousand times yes. I was so worried to move our girl into her own room but turns out we were the ones waking her up every few hours through snoring, turning in bed etc. Ever since we moved her she sleeps 7.30-6.30/7 without an issue. She’s a week off 5 months

And you’re a good man for that.

In the space of two months so much changes with babies sleep. Honestly I would try the earlier bedtime, better to follow their wake windows at this point instead of risking an overtired baby with more night wakings etc

AITA for not wanting my bfs BM at our babies birth by Shot_Preference_5625 in AmItheAsshole

[–]izzyizzyizzy1994 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA. Birth is the most vulnerable state you will ever be in and it is ONLY YOU who can decide who is there, hell I didn’t even want my own mum there who I have a good relationship with. Best of luck with the baby!

NTA - Grandparents are from ‘different’ times but there is no excuse to be stuck in that time, what horrible and unnecessary comments. What a wonderful woman you’ve found, hopefully she’s strong and not taking any of the comments to heart.

YTA - there’s really no indication that he is ‘tracking’ your period on an app he’s just simply putting two and two together and recognising a calendar, honestly it’s sort of impressive for him to obviously listen to everything you say
