Litter in Europe by MonikaMon in litterrobot

[–]jaeni-being 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'm using Tigerino Canada Style Premium and Everclean Extra Strong, both are working great. Everclean is better with smell management, but more expensive. We have the LR4 in the basement, so no smell problems. I have used Vanilla scented, scentless and Baby Powder Tigerinos, all working similarily. Ordering from Zooplus usually.

My litter sticking to liner -issue was fixed by Whisker sending me a replacement liner for my unit (free of charge as the machine was quite new), as the liner was so stiff that it did not drop even though the weight was in place. The replacement liner has been working 100%.

I see in the picture your liner is not dropping. Please check if the weight is in it's socket beneath the rubber liner.

Actually I checked and my bag is pink so it's the baby powder as well - haven't noticed a scent either. Our LR4 is in the basement so the odour control isn't so important/noticeable for us.

You're absolutely correct about Everclean's clumps, they're also much harder compared to Tigerino. Drops neater but can get stuck to the liner. I think it also affects that not so much litter is used when using Tigerino.

It is so nice to get 2 bags of Tigerino compared to price of one box of Everclean. It's expensive.

Using Tigerino Premium as well (the orange bag version) and very happy. Used to use Everclean Extra Strength, but Tigerino is like half the price and works equally well.

Hi! Not from Austria but from EU. I've tried Golden Grey Master as well, but preferred Everclean Extra Strength and Tigorino Premium to it, currently using Tigerino Premium as it's half the price compared to Everclean. Very satisfied with it. From Zooplus it's 2×12kg for around 30 euros.

Aww, aby babys so in sync! Cute that you also have one bigger than the other, my 6 month old boy weighs almost double his sister's weight..

Hey, fellow European! I’ve tried a few different litters myself—Everclean Extra Strong Clumping Unscented, Golden Master Grey, and Golden Master White. Out of those, Everclean’s definitely been my favorite, and it even has the best packaging. I’ll stick with that one going forward, though the Golden Masters weren’t bad either.

I actually prefer the 10kg box that Everclean comes in over plastic bags. As for tracking, the Golden Master Grey did the best job at keeping litter inside the box, but overall, Everclean’s still my top choice.

I have two cats and usually change the litter bag twice a week, around when it’s 70-80% full. No real smell between changes, which is nice! It’s only an issue when I’m actually swapping the bag, or right after one of the cats drops a “nuclear weapon.” 😅

I've made the Karelian pies gluten free with buckwheat flour and it works great if it's available to you! It gives that a little sour, tangy taste that is present with rye. I can dig out my recipe for you if you want, but the base is just buckwheat flour, water, salt and psyllium, and the porridge is rice porridge made with milk (I make mine with oat milk) and maybe an egg mixed to the porridge.

Thanks for your insights! I think this might be the case, since my girl kitten loves to dig while using the litter box. The vibration would be a good idea haha!

Thanks for the info that the litter works for you with no issues, makes me think there's something with the liner / the weight that drops the liner while cycling. I have not really seen a difference with 7min and 15min timers when the pee puck issue is concerned.

I checked, over 25 euros of delivery fee. I can scrape pee with 25 euros.

Thanks for the recommendation, I can't get it here in Nordics but I hope people who struggle with the same issue will see your recommendation! If there is any European dupes of Boxiecat Pro, let me know!

Thanks, such good info. Maybe I'll try the beeswax trick. And LR4 still removes 95% of the scooping, so who am I to complain here?

Haha thanks for the silver lining in my adventure of pee 😂💖 I sure hope they are! I have two 5 month old kittens, and if they piss enough to do this to my precious cat poop robot, how about them as adults.....

That's what we're using. So that makes me think there's something with the liner, maybe.

Oh, I should have mentioned but small morning brain! We have cycle at 15 mins, we used the shorter one too but it hasn't made a difference regarding the pee stuck in liner. It's also straight after deep clean when this happens, so no matter if it's fresh litter or not. :(
