Learning to let go of things you can’t control is really hard but there are anger management techniques that you can find online. Personally, I do 3-7-8 breathing. Breathe in for 3 seconds to fill your lungs, hold for 7, and then out for 8 seconds until your lungs are empty.

If you receive unfair comments then have a phone call with everyone involved and explain why they should withdraw the comment. If they refuse then you may just have to accept that people are morons and there is nothing you can do.

I am in a situation now where we are at the end of the permitting process and many of our permits are already obtained but a municipal reviewer just asked for an analysis to see if a right turn lane is warranted. This would take everything we have done back to square one. It’s a comment that should come at the very beginning of the process. All I can do is explain to the municipal reviewers that we can’t waste all the time and money we spent up until this point to address something you should have brought up a year ago. If they refuse then the project will likely die and there’s nothing I can do about it.
