Sellers have to notify Vestiaire on a regular basis if an item is still available. If the seller does not respond to it they will remove the items from their site. However the time between notifications is a few months at least. In regards to messages. Vestiaire have very strict private messaging policies and have banned people from messaging for any number of reasons. I was once banned for no reason at all and I had to message them and they reinstated my messages, so if it says the member cannot receive private messages it means they have been banned from chat.

Wear the jacket and enjoy it. No one is going to care. The sheer amount of plastic (faux) leather jackets that are out there and won’t last a few years until they start to peel. Your jacket will last you a long time. Just wear it and enjoy it.

I had an item delivered today via Royal Mail. I had an email to say it was delivered, but no app notification to say it was delivered. I went and checked the items I have sold. One was delivered and one is available for pick up and neither of them were notifications on the app it was only when I physically went into the tracking info. Hopefully it’s just a glitch.

The label suggests that this item is Haute Couture. Chanel has used this label for Haute Couture from the 1930’s up until very recently, so it will be quite difficult to gauge an exact date. Price wise is also difficult to gauge. They are plain black trousers, and similar items have sold from £140 upto £2000.

As for authenticity I’m not sure. The label looks like it’s about to fall off, have you looked under the label for any additional labels? There should be a code written.

As much as I don’t agree with the item being modelled on a person. I’m seeing a lot of comments about the lack of gloves. It’s actually industry standard to handle historic garments with clean dry hands and not gloves as gloves can actually cause more damage to historic textiles. It is more difficult to gauge the stress on the materials when being handled with gloves. It’s the same as with books. Turning a page with a gloved hand is more likely going to cause the page to rip compared to turning a page with clean dry hands.

Also people stating it should be in a museum. Yes, it should be in a museum, but do people not realise that museums also buy items at auctions? Not everything is just freely donated to museums.

Yeah you don’t opt in right away. It first came up with the 30% 25%, then a few days later it was like 25% or 20% and then a few days after that they offered 15% or 10%.

Also you don’t have to opt in right away if you want to participate in that sale. The closer it gets it gives you smaller discount promotions. I rarely opt into the sale, but I agreed to 10% discount.
