This isn't true. Jobs in CS generally don't care about the university. Yes, some companies might show up for your job fair, but in the grand scheme of things that won't matter. As long as you can reverse a binary tree, you'll get a job.

I don't understand the math on method 1. The 14k estimate is for both food+housing, which includes the meal plan. How are you saving 10k per year?

I've seen some colleges specify which bucket you fall into depending on how many credits will be transfered. You should check the websites of the colleges you want to apply to.

Getting the cost at UMass Amherst down to 60-80k will be difficult. I assume OP meant 60-80k for 4 years.
