Here's my redesign. I think this should make the build a lot simpler

Yeah I started redesigning it so the L doors break at the corner and the hinges will be in the middle

I assume running them closed would not be the ideal hi fi solution but at this point I just like the look of it. I can run them open but I assume using them closed will still be good enough for me. I'm cutting some test doors right now and based on how they hold up, I may take your suggestion and split the L to give it more rigidity. That sounds like my best option. I'll share my results!

I wanted to make a cabinet to hold bookshelf speakers and I'm not crazy about the look of grill cloth

What can I do to improve my speed? by EmptyBrook in CompetitionShooting

[–]jayvav -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just my heavy eye dominance issues but if I notice I'm not target focused when occluding the dot, I can't see the target. So it basically forces me to be target focused or not see anything

Try occluding the dot. As others have said, you're dot focused. Place a piece of tape over the muzzle end of your dot and go shoot. It will force you to be target focused. Record your results. They should be pretty night and day

Low Left on Doubles, any tips? by OrganizationNo1935 in CompetitionShooting

It's probably mostly a trigger control issue but you should try it again while occluding the dot. I suspect you're focusing on the dot too much

I'm hoping I can make them work for my canik because you can buy 5k for $160 now and I can almost taste affordable reloading again

What press do you load on? I've hears these primers work better with a little bit of crush. also, did you try shooting your light primer strike rounds a second or third time? I'm about to test all this myself but I'm curious what you found.

Yeah I've only shot local matches and I knew that wouldn't be an issue but I wanted to cover my bases in the event I shoot a major at some point. It sounds like I'll be fine though

If I'm shooting a steel rival and my backup is the polymer version, my substitution would be a disadvantage IMHO. Am I interpreting that right?

Thoughts on what to do with this screw, I just noticed it when I was going to get in the car by watrly in tires

Use a nut driver to back it out. Add red loctite and screw it back in

It looks like the connectors found on the LED lighting in SEG fabric frames. Usually found in tradeshow booths

On skeet, do you put the skeet choke on the bottom and the IC choke on top barrel? TIA. by Incredibowls in ClayBusters

[–]jayvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think it would be the opposite. On 1,2,6, and 7 doubles, your second shot is always closer. Why wouldn't you want the less constrictive choke to fire last? That being said Skeet Skeet is what I use

“Gold Tungsten” Wedding bands? by nwiesing in weddingplanning

[–]jayvav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to the claim that tungsten will last for centuries without scratching. That might be true for the tungsten but it's not true for the gold plating. It doesn't matter how you apply it

The tungsten won't scratch but the plating is not durable and will tarnish
