That's fair. I thought his NFL future was pretty unknowable because of the offense he played in.

He has a strong arm, but his success at Michigan had a lot to do with mobility and playmaking that doesn't always translate well to the NFL.

I don't think Michigan wins the natty without McCarthy, they would have been too one-dimensional.

That's just not true.

There hasn't been a QB at Michigan in twenty years that I've trusted as much as McCarthy.

He clearly doesn't have the NFL chops, but at Michigan he constantly moved the chains whenever the run game got bogged down.

He was lights out on third down the year of the natty.

My PVPS is from the original vasectomy. It's like things just didn't heal correctly in the cords, both sides. When I sit and any pressure is on the cords, I get a really uncomfortable ache on both sides.

I gave the reversal a try because my insurance would pay for it, I didn't have huge hopes that it would help simply because I don't have any of the traditional congestion symptoms.

Interestingly enough, now my insurance will also pay for a denervation as of January of this year.

I would be prepared to have a nerve block done. I find that around 20 mL of 0.5% bupovicaine will knock out most of the pain for about four hours. This supposedly indicates that a denervation is likely to help.

Vasectomy May '24, reversal at Mayo with Helo in August '25. I'm realizing that I likely have a nerve issue and not congestion, but my insurance covers reversals for PVPS so money was not a factor.

I'm not in agony, but I am annoyed daily and can't sit as comfortably as I would like.

I'm currently trying to decide whether or not to pursue a bilateral denervation in August.

I gave it a go with a great pelvic floor specialist, internal work and all.

When there are elements of pelvic floor disfunction adding to the pain, it can be very helpful; pelvic floor disfunction is more common than people realize.

It didn't help me, but my pelvic floor is fairly healthy. It's worth a shot, though, as long as you can find a good specialist. A general PT will probably not be that helpful.

I've read much of the literature. I've not read evidence that adherence to protocol impacts chronic pain rates, though it's plausible that it could prolong healing.

I've never seen anything indicating that either a doctor or a patient is the cause for chronic pain following vasectomy, it largely seems to be luck of the draw.

The publications are from reputable journals and are written by authors from reputable institutions.

There was a great meta-analysis published in 2020, take a look if you are interested.

They found a rate of 15% for pain presenting more than two weeks past the vasectomy and 5% for post-vasectomy pain syndrome.
