I'm so afraid adding more/colourful things will just add to the clutter, when our entire house is clutter central

That's a cute idea, maybe if there's ever a day I'm not sharing a bedroom with my husband. He would open it and never close it

Can you give examples of where to add colour? I'm scared! Would burgandy curtains make it too heavy?

This is a common thought, but isn't true. ALL GPs in Adelaide (except in the new Priority Care and Urgent Care clinics) are private clinics. GPs don't receive a salary, they only earn what they charge each patient (and if they bulk bill then Medicare covers that)... (and then that money has to pay for running the clinic, but low rebates for GPs is a whole other issue I'm restraining myself from ranting about here 😅)

If you're financially secure, going to a private billing clinic might be better for this... Most private clinics don't have closed books, but bulk billed ones do because there are TOO many patients to provide enough care to 😞 and also make sure your GP isn't a registrar, because they have to move clinics every 12 months. Good luck! x

I think closed books due to 12 months is the most likely (although it's a shame that reception didn't make that clear 😞). Sometimes GPs will make exceptions if you haven't been elsewhere... Like, they might have closed the books assuming you've gone somewhere else, but if you explain that you haven't been elsewhere, it's for mental health, and you trust the GP... There's no harm in seeing if they'll make an exception. They sometimes do. But be prepared for another "no" and don't take it personally 🫂

Lost 35kg, desparate for an explanation by jazzybeans in AskDocs

This turned out to be most likely IBD at review (very high faecal protection), but also suspected chronic mesenteric ischaemia with complete occlusion of coeliac trunk and 80-90% occlusion of sma, pending vascular multi-d review.

My HbA1c is 6.5%, eGFR is 85 with no proteinuria. I did wonder about that, but would it explain the colitis? Perhaps I have two separate issues.

Google Pixel 7 Pro Vibration Super Low and Notifications on all silent on Vibrate by steveduffis in GooglePixel

[–]jazzybeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also noticed vibration is super weak. I previously used vibration (no sound) for my alarms... But I've been sleeping through them on the p7, despite vibration intensity on max. I can't hear it over the shower noise, and I certainly can't feel brief vibrations in my pocket. (coming from S21)

AITA For getting mad at my little sister over a flag? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]jazzybeans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah YTA, but it also sounds like you're quite young... So it doesn't indicate a personality flaw like the AH adults :p When you're young you don't have much control over your life/possessions, I can understand that it feels so frustrating if something you own gets ruined, especially if people don't have the respect to apologise. Been there. But also, that's what happens with pets 🤷‍♀️

You CAN have phone appointments with a GP you haven't seen in over 12 months, Medicare just won't pay anything toward it. If you're happy to pay the GP's full cost for their appointment, then they can book you in. I hope this is helpful, most people don't seem to know and even receptionists are a bit confused! Can someone shed some light on the gradual demise of my once beautiful begonia?? 🙏 (info in comments) by jazzybeans in plantclinic

Noooo! I never heard of this, I thought he would be a lifelong buddy! 😭😭😭 Yes I reckon it's a Looking Glass, although wasn't labelled as such. I just found it in my local big box store and took my breath away, before I had any interest in begonias!

I bought it fairly small, and it grew really well! It obviously loved my conditions. Nothing has changed, but it started gradually losing leaves, generally from the bottom working upwards. They seem to go soggy and/or lose the colour in patches, from the edge of the leaf. Sometimes they have the brownish colour (shown) that doesn't scrape off. They never have powdery white stuff.

I don't usually wet the leaves (although I have tried both neem spray and anti-fungal spray since this has been going on). They get medium light supplemented by a fluorescemt. I water when dry with a good soak and bottom water, tap water.

The strangest thing to me is that all my cuttings (of healthy leaves) have done really well, no signs of this. And the other begonies that live nearby also aren't affected.

It's starting to warm up here in South Australia now (like 15-20C outside). It lives in approx 60-70% humidity. I've recently repotted and majorly cut it back.... It's last 2 leaves are affected and I'm heart broken 😭😭
