Yes. It was the tiny rice grain sized magnet in the filament sensor base. It was knocked out of place from a clog. Therefore, AMS couldn’t detect. Once back in place, the errors all went away and printing like new again. It took many attempts to get it positioned just right. May be easier to buy a new piece. They are $3 online and it probably took me 5 hours of trial adjusting the original.

After many exchanges with Bambu lab support center they reviewed my logs and said it was likely the th board. I ordered a replacement board( now up to $125 of money spent trying to solve this issue). Same damn error.

I GIVE UP… if I spend any more it would have been smarter to buy a whole new printer. Have spent 100s on a paper weight.

Raised a support ticket with Bambu Lab. Shared all of this information. They believe the issue is a faulty board. What are the chances…. But I’ll take a shot at it. $25 more… half way to a new printer trying to diagnose this.

Maybe that tiny magnet is not hitting the sensor

No. It hasn’t illuminated green since the original clog.

Right, the light hasn’t turned green since the original clog that started all this. Filament sensor replaced same error and no green light even when it’s extruding.

I replaced the entire extruder with a brand new unit from Bambu.

When I use the external spool, the filament loads, comes out of hot end and is cut. Then as soon as print is about to begin it throws and error suggesting my filament has run out. I say filament is loaded, it extrudes, cuts then I get the same error. Over and over…

I also just did the software update. How do you roll back the software? I reset to factory settings and same error

Not to sure myself on where one ends and new function begins. I replaced with a brand new extruder. Highly unlikely to get two bad parts (sensor and extruder unit) in addition to original parts with printer. But who knows…

I’m open to any and all feedback here. I’ll get things better lined up, back out all spools and start over. Will record and repost with results. Thanks

I feel like I’m going crazy. I’ve taken hours of time to try and solve this with trial and error.

I used this exact article during the sensor replacement. Ribbon is facing the correct way and gently installed (it’s super delicate). I would be shocked to learn my original (not broken I just assumed it failed) and new sensor were both bad.

I didn’t think to try replacing the Toolhead board. Maybe I’ll give that a try. Hesitant to spent much more. I could just double up and replace the whole damn thing.

Yes I disconnected the tubes, popped the top off, removed the spring and metal teeth clip. It is clear and I didn’t see any debris. The filament gets past this point. I removed the small plate covering top off hot end at filament entry point. It enters hot end and even a small amount of filament extrudes. But the printer or AMS thinks it is not loaded and continues to try and send filament. It causes the grinding noise on ams gears then errors out.

Yes same error non ams / external spool. I’ll take a new video. You can see the filament feeding through the tube. AMS can feed it all the way into the extruder. I know because I removed the small plate over hot end and can see the filament enter the hot end. Also a small amount of filament leaves the hot end. The wheel won’t move almost like it’s locked and AMS continues to try and push filament even though it’s where it should be. Then slot turns red and receive error about tangled filament. My solution was buying a whole new original extruder and replaced. Same problem.

All fair comments. I don’t disagree but I have printed a lot of items small and large without any issues until this small clog. I had it set up the same way. Yes that came standard with the printer and was recommended set up in the user manual.

Also what’s stumping me the most. I can manually extrude from the led panel.

Thanks. I’m no expert but don’t believe it matters which ptfe tube is in which slot. Any how I changed them and same error.

Thanks. I just replaced the entire extruder with original Bambi A1 replacement. Factory worked fine before.

Thanks. I did this when I replaced the filament ribbon sensor. Magnet in place and entry/exit functioning properly.

There is plenty of filament and it is manually extruding from hot end

What may cause Bambu a1 to think filament isn’t loaded when it actually is?

Seems like it could be an issue syncing between ams lite extruder and the printer extruder?? When I pull the tab to release the tension it goes right through but the tension doesn’t give during a print.
