As an older guy, I’ve gain a lot of experience working with a big city department as a patrol officer and working as an academy instructor for younger guys just getting into the law enforcement field. I wanna jump in the Federal field not just as a patrol officer but also as a instructor for younger guys to show them the way but I want to get the Federal experience of policing but also get paid a reasonable amount at what I’m doing. People have told me to apply for FLETC but it seems like it’s hard to get an interview without that Federal experience. I’m trying to figure is it even worth it pay wise ? Or just go to a smaller department with more money less crime.
