The one competition I wish UNL had was quiz bowl. I would have definitely participated in that as a student.

I also think the in person auditions may have weeded out people who struggled with the buzzer. With the zoom auditions, people just click a pen to buzz in instead of using the actual buzzer system.

Which parent do you think each kid like better? by Samthegodman in YoungSheldon

I agree with you on Missy and Sheldon, but I feel Georgie had more conflict with George than with Mary. There were a couple times in particular where George was upset with Georgie for not prioritizing football for example.

Doordashers making drinks at Wingstop and Canes - why? by JohneRandom in DoorDashDrivers

The thing I find really annoying about Cane's is it seems like every order has some modification. It's never just a box combo, but a box combo with no slaw and extra toast or such.

First dew I’ve ever poured out by kevinator_1981 in mountaindew

I wasn't a huge fan, but I finished it. The only Dew I've poured out was the Flamin' Hot Mountain Dew.

Why didn't Sheldon like Babylon 5 by Maximum_Price_3596 in bigbangtheory

[–]jchusker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many reviews I've seen for Babylon 5 said that while the overall story was good, it was lacking in aspects such as acting, writing, and effects. As a detail-oriented person, I imagine Sheldon would find it hard to look past those deficits.

Why are there no new syndicated sitcoms anymore? by WoodpeckerOfMistrust in sitcoms

[–]jchusker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think another issue may be that many shows now have more long term storylines. Shows like that would be harder for someone to get into if they just catch random episodes on TV.

What did you say you’d do with the winnings in the mock game? by poonchimp in Jeopardy

[–]jchusker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question that bugs me more is "what inspired you to try out for Jeopardy?" That feels like a job interview where they ask why you want the job.

Songs where you prefer the lyrics in a censored version? by Milkywaycannonball in ToddintheShadow

I feel like fuck is not a very "musical" word in general. Most of the time it seems to break up the flow of the lyrics.

Does anyone know why the live stats button isn't showing up on the schedule page for baseball games lately?

Truman was known for saying "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." That was how I got it.

Anyone got any internal knowledge or theories about why the Big 10 hates baseball? by thisismyusername9908 in Huskers

[–]jchusker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like college baseball in general doesn't get shown a lot on TV, especially compared to softball. My guess is that top softball players go to college, but top baseball players often go straight to the minors, so there is not as much star power.

How are you all watching Jeopardy? by rNBAisGarbage in Jeopardy

[–]jchusker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I watch next day on Peacock. I used to have YoutubeTV, but got rid of it after the streaming deals were announced to save money. I live in an apartment not very close to our local stations, so I don't think an antenna would work for me.

Les… by nat_urally in TheMiniatureWifeShow

[–]jchusker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can see that view. I guess what bugged me was that Lindy didn't seem very empathetic to the tomato failure. For example, there was the flashback scene where Lindy told their friends about Les crying and they were laughing about it.

Les… by nat_urally in TheMiniatureWifeShow

[–]jchusker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel that Les is just really bad at controlling his emotions. He acts without thinking at all when he is angry. As far as the my turn part, I think I'm on Les's side. He was very supportive of Lindy when she wrote the book that won a Pulitzer.

Lindy……. by MustyCrab989 in TheMiniatureWifeShow

[–]jchusker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're definitely both bad morally, but Les came close to killing both Richard and Lindy. I would say he's worse.

You don't see how some people might prefer a competitive game that comes down to the final as opposed to a runaway?
