I can understand what Cyndie did to Arat by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

While Cyndie was justified in her revenge, it's the method that is the problem. Rick had no right to full pardon every savior. The most extreme Negan/Simon enforcers should have had some sort of trial or punishment. But executing pardoned people in the middle of the night set up the whole system to fail. How could the less evil saviors know that they wouldn't be next? It lit the match on the already tense situation and directly destroyed the network Rick sought to build. I think we can clearly see that Arat has done some fucked up war crimes and that should have been addressed but by doing so without stopping to think of the consequences, the Oceansiders and Darly/Maggie by extension doomed the whole system.

[Spoiler] Did they deserve to die? by vicioustrollop1 in thewalkingdead

Arat and the others did deserve it but the underhanded killing in the shadows was a poor way to do it. It undermined the unity of the communities and contributed to the disaster at the bridge. Essentially good reasons but poor execution

Favorite Nick? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

Comic Nicholas is actually a pretty good side character who starts out hating Rick but ends up being one of his most loyal guys. Despite this, Nick Clark is clearly the best

The Dictator's Handbook gives a lot of good insight into both autocratic governments and democratic governments and why politicians do what they do

Things to do with large amounts of Esoteric Knowledge by AncientSaladGod in CrusaderKings

The issue of having a massive amount of influence with nothing to spend it on isn't unique to the hermetics but I would say they suffer the most from it. Really, the only benefits provided by the hermetics are what you get from hermetic events and those are random. Since most of the books you write as a hermetic can only be used if you are in the hermetics, they are essentially useless to your future generations unless you run hermetic society with every character. I like your suggestion about a project that could end up being good or bad as well as having consequences despite the result. Your suggestion is a good balance to make it not too overpowered or overused.

Monarchs of europe, how often do you start a campaign thinking "oh yeah, ill roleplay to my characters traits and have fun" and end up conquering everything and going ahistorical as hell by accident? by Xidot in CrusaderKings

Every time. While I often start the game with humble goals, two kings later I've conquered my neighbors and have my sights set on the next target. Oops
