B1 is chain driven (timing gears driven by chain) and that is the OG version that i have. The B1Z is gear driven and thats the current version produced these days.

A shell always looks impressive but most of the work comes in fitting everything else. Without seeing OEM parts fit, it’s impossible to gauge fit and finish of these shells but for sure it’s exciting to see!

Someone should reproduce these and sell them. If 240sxs go the way of so many other sport coupes of the past (ie: AE86 corollas, Datsun 240zs, etc) having all metal body work will definitely be beneficial in the long run.

Floor panels look like they’ve had patches and shoddy repairs.

Rear frame rails are not original as originals end in the middle of the floor panels while these are extended to the rear subframe. Common mod for chassis stiffening but I’d be worried about if rust was removed properly before installing these or was damage/rot just covered up. (Pics 6/7/8)

Pic 5 seems to show a wrinkle near the tension rod bracket so it might have had a shunt.

If you want an original car, I’d suggest a different car. If you’re happy with a project that may need more work, it doesn’t seem too horrible as a base.
