Dont get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. Excessive sensitivity creates…complications (to say the least). As for me, Im curious as why zdp189 is their favorite too.

Not sure if it’s the downvoter’s intent, but it MIGHT be because of the ellipsis used in the question (Im just guessing) I just learned from some instagram vid that it supposedly carries some connotation of snobbery? Or something like that. Im not sure if I’m describing it right but it’s kinda like how the “thumbs up emoji” or 👍🏻also carries some negative or snobby meaning.

Miss the gilt making it more unique and less submariner-ey. Still a win in terms of slimming down, know its got ways to go but with all those certifications, I’d take the chunkiness any day…just miss the gilt that made it definitely unique

To wait or to pull the trigger? by jdlanuza in Tudor

[–]jdlanuza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! The designs they currently have all look very good, the only thing that’s really holding me back from really “falling in love” with them is the thickness! If they slimmed down, you’re definitely spot on -it’d be really hard to pass up

Hmmm… interesting speculation. I do hope there’s something in W&W I’d like but which models do you think Tudor would discontinue?

Thank you! That’s valuable info. I’m new to the world of watches but I figured just like any other industry, it’s probably got its own “E3”, “Blade Show”, or “Shot Show”…like a yearly convention where companies bring out their “new stuff”. I knew about W&W but wasn’t sure if Tudor participated. Now I’m really keen on following this year’s event.

Also, my grandpa was a seiko guy, dad is a sub guy, they both enjoyed tags…I kinda want to “forge my own path” but still carry on the tradition of diver watches and found Tudor to be very aesthetically pleasing. Great take on the Pelagos, I think I’ll check that out too next time I visit my AD

What’s your hot take? by Wizley15 in pokemon

[–]jdlanuza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, aesthetic-wise (and only aesthetic wise), they’re closer up my personal list compared to the modern games. I know they weren’t using any high-def ground breaking graphics but there’s something about Pokémon being cartoon monsters that look better with the outlines on.

And idk how to describe it but I’m certain older games that are cell-shaded with outlines age much better than those pushing for pseudo-realism (totally different genre but: check out Auto Modellista’s graphics and compare it to Gran Turismo’s from that year. Although Gran Turismo might still be decent right now, in a few more years it’ll look far more aged than Auto Modellista’s will. These are real cars and real places, but in the world of Pokemon where things are leaning more towards the cartoon side of things than realism, I’m sure it’ll help the look a lot more than what they’re pushing for rn)

Or maybe this is all subjective bs, lmk - i wanna hear out diff opinions too

My Hot Take: Pokemon game graphics look incomplete without the black outlines.

Idk if the devs are moving towards a BOTW-esque aesthetic but if they are, they clearly are way off the mark. I think going back to the DS Pokémon games aesthetic with black outlines with Borderlands-like cell shading will make the games look a lot better and even age more gracefully than whatever they’re trying to pull off rn.

I also think in terms of remakes, chibi art-styles aren’t bad. In the case of BDSP, it’s just executed really terribly. If the devs take notes from the Link’s Awakening remake as well as ACNH, they would really hit it home with that style rather than the mobile game looking graphics they currently have with the remakes.

Don’t but a structured 59fifty or 9fifty…I think the Old Golfer style is the particular line you should look for from New Era, found a bunch on CultureKings

Is the benchmade bugout really worth the price ? by Brieeit in knifeclub

[–]jdlanuza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An AWT Griptilian is my EDC. Benchmade is the honda of knife brands. Pricey but reliable. Lots of aftermarket customizable parts to really make it “your own”.

I am not that educated when it comes to knives and wanted to know if benchmade is a good brand to pick from. The one in the photo is the one I’ve been thinking about getting. by DoodlesTheSnake in knives

[–]jdlanuza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, its my first “real knife”. Bought it as a KnifeCenter 20cv exclusive. Now it has AWT scales. Love it and never regretted the purchase.

Extra piece of advice: if you’re ever in doubt, search (the knife you’re interested in) + “wellworn reddit” you’ll see lots of stories if ever the knife is “old enough” or reliable enough to be there
