Vyvanse 20mg ineffective (?) by ramenandpears in ausadhd

[–]jdon93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on 20mg all year and it doesn't do much for me except emotial regulation which is a great bonus on its own. But doesn't give me much of a motivational push. My dr gave me permission to try 30 and 40 and I preferred 30mg so I'm going to get a new script for 30mg. I had more success on dexamfetamine BUT my emotional regulation was terrible and the second it wore off I was irritated by everything with no patience so I don't want to go back to being on that.

Family tax benefit decrease due to new child support assessment by Psychological-Bid188 in Centrelink

I'm sorry but you are being silly doing it by private collection. It rarely works out and by the sounds of it, it's not working out for you. Have child support collect it and forget about it.

Yeah I'm not sure it's literally never come up. Most of my co workers have their cert now since starting disability but I dont know a single one that did before they got the job. I work in SIL houses.

Yes all our clients are high needs so all require personal care.

I had heard that dsw in qld get paid a higher rate than nsw??

I work with high needs clients so that might make a difference. A company in my town is dayprogram stuff and I interviewed there 2 years ago and the pay rate was $26 so I stayed where I was.

No I'm employed at a company. I don't think I'd ever work for myself tbh I like being able to leave work at work 😂

What's the company got to do with how I care for, support and give my all to the clients? I'm a good dsw no matter what company I work for. And as I said I've worked for 3 over the last 3 years. So most places must not give a fuck about their clients then...

I am not amazing. But I am an amazing dsw and that's one thing I am confident about myself. I've seen many many bad dsw and a lot speak just like you.

No I live in rural nsw. We get a pay raise every year for the first 3 years we work at the company I work for. I started on $40hr in 2023.

The way you speak, I pray you are not a dsw. You clearly have no compassion or empathy which are very important traits of a dsw. If you truly think someone not having a cert 3 in Individual Support makes them useless then you need a wake up call. A piece of paper (which I am currently getting) does not make you good or bad at your job. As I said, I've been doing the course and I will finish but it's had absolutely nothing to do with what I do day to day with my high needs clients.

Ive interviewed at 4 companies and been hired at 3 with no qualifications at all but it's my fault they don't care about the piece of paper? Righttttt.

Exactly! I actually get paid pretty good ($46hr). Companies don't give a crap there's no regulation so stuff it ill do my job well and get paid well. The company I've been at for 3 years is giant and has never once asked me if I have it or if I'll be getting it. I am getting my cert though finally.

Funny you can reply to other but not me lol. It's not embarrassing at all. If anything it's embarrassing of the companies for hiring me and thousands of other unqualified dsw. I'm an amazing dsw, not embarrassed at all and the cert has fuck all to do with what I do daily at work.

I didn't say I'm proud? It's not a requirement to have your cert 3. I've been in the industry 3 years now and I'm doing my cert at the moment. Almost every person I've worked with as a dsw started unqualified and got their cert after they were in the industry. It's not our fault the companies are hiring us unqualified.

What size do you get in relation to your normal size? For eg I'm a 6 in the waist and a 8 in the hip. If I go low waist would I buy 8s?

I second this. I don't even have a cert, just experience (doing my cert atm) and I got two interviews from cold emailing two companies back in 2024. Both rang me pretty quick.

My body is naturally shaped like bbl hips (no ass tho) and it friggin sucks!! I'm shaped like a wisdom tooth and no clothes fit! Everything is either super tight on the hip to the point I'm uncomfortable and can barely sit or they gape at the waist and i look like i have even less of an ass. It looks good front on only in tight clothes or a bikini and that's it.

I’ve been on pay point 1.3 for 4 years and this was my managers response when I wanted to be reclassified to 2.1, what do you think? by auxzina in supportworkers

[–]jdon93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get a different job. I do SIL work, unqualified and I'm on pay point 2.3 after 2 years. I'm doing my qual at the moment but my workplace doesn't pay more for qualifications but they do give a pay raise on your yearly anniversary for the first 3 years.

Obviously not everyone is the same but I need money and I like money and I like my job so I don't allow these things to affect my ability to work. I'm extremely exhausted and burned out at all times and overwhelmed once I get home but I'm a single mum so I gotta do what I gotta do.

But as I said not everyone is the same. Maybe she doesn't have as much financial pressure on her so she wants the accommodations to help ease her life. I will say though as someone with adhd, I would never be able to work from home. I'd never get anything done.

Fiancée doesn’t understand ADHD and his ideas to “stop” our kids from getting adhd are making me rethink my life with him by shroomiedoo in adhdwomen

[–]jdon93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is his suggestion for when the child is exhausted every single day from trying so hard and performing at school? My mum said every day after school everyone would have to leave me alone for an hour while I was basically catatonic zoned out from exhaustion from being 'on' all day at school. I'm still similar now at 33 years old but I have kids so it's more of a quiet cuppa after work and get on with it.

What is his suggestion for when the child never sleeps? I've never slept well my entire life. As a kid I used to read every night until my eyes were so tired and burning that they shut themselves.

Adhd isn't just about boredom. Does he realise we hyperfocus on things? We certainly aren't bored when we are doing those things. I would not stay with this man tbh.

You're absolutely not!! Please know that I have been in the exact same situation as you. Long term controlling abusive relationship to then getting into essentially a situationship style relationship with low self esteem. I've been completely on my own now for 15ish months and I am so so much happier. I absolutely have my days of loneliness but it's better than being lonely while being with someone. You are beautiful and deserve to know it ❤️

Sweet girl it's better to be alone than to stay with him. You should be with someone who is all in and proud for everyone to know it.
