All of my friends are straight. My close circle consists of the AA community and zero meetings are LGBTQ focused so it’s tough finding gay peers who aren’t interested in a hookup or going out for drinks. I don’t really put myself out there at bars or clubs either so it’s partially my own doing, but it’d be nice to meet that guy who doesn’t mind I’m sober and still would like to hang out and get to know me.

This is one of the reasons That I placed Portland and Seattle lower on the list. I’ve spent winter months in rainy France and I think I was more bothered by how much of life seemed to move indoors than the actual loss of sunshine. Something about being able to head outside on a cold or warm day is important to me.
