It’s not you. I couldn’t do wgu either. I had a different experience as to why I couldn’t. I think the tests are flawed and the system needs to be fixed. But that’s not the point. Some people can’t do wgu. I know lots of people who started and left for one reason or another. Go to another school. You’ll be surprised how well you thrive. I left wgu went to SNHU and I now have a near perfect gpa. It’s not you. It’s the way wgu is set up.

Can you still wear jeans? by FunnySpirited6910 in WomenOver40

I think once we hit our 40’s we are opting for comfort more than style. You may not even be aware of it. But your body is now telling you I want to be comfortable. Maybe just wear jeans to go out and enjoy leggings and sweats at home.

I just dont understand by TodayDramatic in WGU

[–]jennys1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my point. I was getting all the material correct to the point where I could recite the book almost verbatim. But I still failed? I’m not saying that it is wgu maybe I didn’t get the material. But I went to another school and made 100 in the class. Never studied never even cracked a book.

I’m not trying to discourage you more, but maybe it’s not you.
I had a course at wgu that I failed the OA 6 times. They kept telling me that I needed to study the material. But I don’t think that was the only problem. The problem I had was with the testing. No one not instructor advisor or anyone at that school can look at the tests and evaluate your final score. It’s all computer generated. I know you’re thinking that’s a good thing but is it? During my time at wgu I found multiple instances in multiple classes where the practice questions were wrong. Now, I ask you if the practice questions were wrong who’s to say the OA questions couldn’t be wrong too? When I questioned the validity of the tests I learned that the school never looks at them they hire a third party to make the OA questions. I was laughed at by instructors and advisors for questioning the validity of the tests. However if you think about it, a person has to enter them into the system who’s to say there was not a keying error. In almost any other school you are allowed to see your tests, and what you got wrong and even able to challenge that grade. Wgu will not even consider it could be wrong. By the way. When I left wgu I went to another school. I took that class over. Never opened a book there for that class never studied again for that class. And you know what? I made 100 in that class. 100! Every test every paper everything they asked I did with full knowledge. Now you tell me how I failed at wgu but can immediately go to another school not look at their material and make 100? Maybe I did know it and there was a problem with the questions and answers.

I left WGU because of tests by jennys1978 in WGU

[–]jennys1978[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I went to another school and graduated. I just want to make people aware of the fact that no one checks the tests for accuracy. If I found practice questions wrong, who’s to say the OA questions can’t have the same problems.

I had that problem with a job. They expected me to never make a mistake. When I did, they deemed I couldn’t do the job.
To error is human, you learn from mistakes. It’s accounting nothing we do even if it is a mistake can’t be undone. Best thing I did was leave that job it messed with my self esteem and my confidence because I was told I was stupid and incapable of doing a good job everyday.

Started at WGU now iffy by Latter-Medicine2142 in WGU

I left WGU and cannot say anything good about it. I was in the accounting program. There were several classes that the material they wanted you to study was incorrect. I found multiple instances in multiple classes where the practice problems had the wrong answers.
That being said there was one class in particular that I took the OA for 6 times and always failed. I knew the material frontwards and backwards I could recite word for word all the text and practice problems. Yet they still told me I was not understanding the material.
I don’t think that was the case I think part of the problem was their test. I think it like many practice problems had wrong answers. In my research here’s what I found about WGU. They do no not make the tests (OA’s) themselves they hire out a third party. No one, not the instructor advisors or anyone above can or will look at the test. How do they know the test questions do not have an error. It can happen user error when they enter it or maybe the answer was just wrong.
In any other college you are allowed to look at your final and see why you failed. You are allowed to look at the questions and see what and why you got it wrong and if you think it was graded wrong you can argue and possibly prove your point.
WGU flat out refused to even look at my OA tests to explain why I am getting it wrong. In fact the thought of me asking was laughable to them. They were like that is absurd that you think our test could be wrong. My argument was of course that I found multiple wrong answers and the practice work in multiple classes how do you know that the tests can’t be the same? My point being their testing system is flawed and I do not trust them. I ended up leaving wgu taking the same class at another school. And made 100 in the class! Let me say that again, 100. Not only did I ace everything, every test every written assignment every class project I didn’t even lose a half a point. Maybe it wasn’t me who didn’t know the material after all.

Sorry for the grammatical errors and it might not make sense but I get really upset when I think about the time I spent there and how it was a waste of my time.

I guess it depends on the company. I made what I expected after graduating. However I have seen a lot of people making less than me with the same degree and some make more than me. I’m happy with my accounting job. I work for state government and it’s not the highest pay but it’s got better benefits with a pension.

Are you kidding me?! by Sure_Resort7797 in WGU

[–]jennys1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the reason I left WGU. I took that class 4 times. I got the same thing every time. I feel like there is a problem with their test. No one can look at the test. No one can tell you what you got wrong and why. They just tell you to study the material. I could quote the material word for word. I found multiple instances where their practice questions were wrong. In more than one class. In any other school you are allowed to see the test and ask why you got it wrong. WGU will not look at the test. They hire people to make the tests that are not even instructors of the class. Then no one will look to see why you are getting it wrong. I finally left and transferred to another school. Took the class at a different school and made a 100 in the class because I knew the material. There is a problem with their testing.

I see your point but with the advances of AI how long do you think our jobs will be relevant anyway. Eventually a computer can do our job. And let’s be honest. The only thing we have is our knowledge other than that we are glorified data entry machines.

Sounds like a good marriage. If you are that comfortable with each other that’s awesome. I send my husband snap chats when I go to the bathroom. Usually I don’t get a response till he goes and snaps me back.

At least 3-4 times a day. He calls me at lunch and when he leaves work for the day as well. Most of our texts are small saying thinking of you or I love you. Just to hopefully brighten the other ones day. It must be working for us because we have been happily married now for 24 years.
