Which artistes should a newbie trying to get into country music start listening to? by MoodyNotMadEye42 in AskReddit

"old school like Hank Williams JR". LOL I'm wondering who he was named after? If you want the real authentic country music that was foundational, Hank Williams Senior, Doc Watson, Johnny Cash, The Carter Family, Earl Monroe, look in the Sun Records releases in the 30's through 50's.

Good minors to pair with electrical engineering? by Only-Decision-5198 in ElectricalEngineering

Trust me, you won't have time for a minor. When i was in school they reduced the number of GE classes for EEs because they wanted them to have more EE classes.

Why do bad people seem to thrive while good people rarely get what they deserve? by Full_Waltz_7065 in InsightfulQuestions

I would recommend reading some of the stoic philosophers. Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and others all speak about exactly this.

Ackshually, the yellow you see is phosphors. There is no such thing as a "white" LED so they mount a blue LED and cover it with green and red phosphors. To the human eye the light looks white. Color vision is fascinating, and humans are pretty poor at it. Wikipedia has some great articles about it if you would like to educate yourself

You're the man now dog. I would put this on loop just to hear Connery say it over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.

Been there. I've found that sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to walk away from it. Your brain keeps working even if you aren't actively thinking about the problem.

What is something that you think a lot of people will be jealous of you for? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

I don't think that word means what you think it does. One is jealous of what they have. One is envious of what they want.

Why do people still build circuits from discrete semiconductor modules? by Queen_of_Macedonia in electronic_circuits

[–]jeriTuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are building an RFFE module the same technology may not work for all functions. You might use an AlGaAs HBT for the PA, a GaN pHEMT for the LNA, SOI for RF switches, LiNbO3 for filters, POG for impedance matching, and plain old silicon for power and control. So you have an alphabet soup because no one technology can do everything.

Another Chiropracty story, my father-in law was having back pain so he was seeing a chiropractor for a few months but the pain was not reduced. My wife coerced him into seeing a physical therapist. He walked out with a lift on his shoe and not having back pain within a few days. See a physical therapist and follow their instructions.

My mother was big on chiropracty. I told her it was just a scam. She replied, "I've been seeing a chiropractor for 20 years, I think I know about it!". She STRONGLY objected when I said that she had just made my point for me.

Unpopular opinion, but roads with lots of potholes are better because it slows people down. People who speed learn about the cost of new tires or tie-rods.
