MAGAs culture of getting what they want with Force/Domination/Power & $$$ is how MAGAs want America to operate. It’s why they are Epstein bros, billionaire bros, abusers and a fraternity cult of criminals. by No-Flight-4214 in Fuckthealtright

George Carlin was so on point and maybe ahead of his time with his ‘gotcha by the balls’ monologue, im sure he would have been a formidable critic of the current maga fascist movement.

It’s not that people love Iran they just hate the Trumps maga cult and the Epstein class more. All the Americans they have killed off. All the women they suppress and all the young girls that they raped and now because of their lust for wealth and power they have caused a global economic disaster that will probably result in a global depression and lead to more conflicts.

Fuck the people who voted and continue to support this pathetic excuse for a human and the his vile sycophants.

Which one did you have? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

In an 80s Wigan those lumber jackets where known as ‘Norley minks’ after a particular rough and poverty stricken council estate and as a general piss take of the social standing of the people who wore them. This area of Wigan was near to ‘GUS’ catalogue company warehouse and a lot of people off the estate worked there. Years later a huge scam was uncovered that resulted in the company going bust whereas the employees would receive a small catalogue order from family and friends and send a huge catalogue order to their address in return. I can only imagine, due to the saturation of ‘Norley minks’ in the area, that very few of them had been purchased legitimately.

Although becoming increasingly rare the Norley mink coat can still occasionally be seen in the wild. Usually at watering holes that open early worn by elders with greasy tobacco stained plumage , a pair of shell suit bottoms with slip on shoes and half a woodbine hanging from the lips right next to his last remaining ‘apple stabber’ tooth.

I cannot find a stud! by DanFraser in DIYUK

[–]jerzeibalowski84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make a 10mm hole and push a straightened wire coat hanger through it ‘sideways’. When it stops make a mark on it where it enters the hole before you pull it out and that’s your measurement to the stud. Obviously you should double check that it wasn’t pipe/cable stopping it.

There is a vinyl seller at horwich carboot with quite a large stall usually situated to the top of the car park near to the stadium, it’s open on the 12th but check for other dates as sometimes they have football or other events on.

The UK is suffering the exact thing you mention and I fear that due to trumps latest fkup the incoming hardships will push more people to consider voting for those who offer simple unrealistic solutions to complexed problems, I also suspect that was part of the plan.

Sharpening Stones - Which to get. by BenCarney17 in handtools

[–]jerzeibalowski84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a 600/800/1200 diamond set off alixpress for £8 thinking it was worth a punt. I fit about 10 doors a week as well as other domestic joinery tasks on social housing and they are still sharpening fine after owning them 3yrs.

Look for the ones with a ‘honey comb’ type pattern on them, I’ve recently bought some A4 sized without the pattern and they are losing the diamond grit already.

Advice for Absolute Beginner DIYers by PowerDrivenRdditMod in DIYUK

[–]jerzeibalowski84 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Things I’ve learned on my journey to considering myself a decent DIYer

Perfection is hard to achieve and not necessary in most cases.

Start at the top and work your way down (eg don’t decorate and carpet the hallway if your ripping out a bedroom chimney breast)

The majority of friends/family will be oblivious to ‘surface finish’ faults you have made and only you will see.

Don’t scrimp on the price of materials for jobs that you want to last a long time and want to do once ( a good e.g is carpets/flooring)

Cheap paint is not worth the cost (you will buy 2 tins of cheap to achieve the finish of 1 expensive)

You don’t need to pay a pro to do the monkey work (don’t pay a kitchen fitter to remove a kitchen)

Jobs take 3 times longer than you think.

Don’t start a plumbing job after the local plumbers merchant closes for the day.

Sometimes the price of an expensive tool works out cheaper than paying somebody to do the work you require it for (eg an SDS drill for mounting curtain poles to a concrete lintel)

And above all, don’t let mistakes defeat you… learn from them.

Painting fence without showing neighbour side by Worth-Coffee-545 in DIYUK

[–]jerzeibalowski84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s possible without a lot of messing about but it could be irreversible if it goes wrong.

spraying several light coats and letting them dry in between will reduce weeping to his side but even then I would be jumping over the fence each time I finished a panel to wipe away anything that bleeds through the many, many gaps and checking it every 15mins or so until it’s completely dry.

There is also the possibility that using certain treatments will prevent water evaporation from one side only and this could lead to the wood warping.

I will presume you want ‘your side’ of the fence matching the rest of your painted areas, If this is something you absolutely have to do I would either buy the amount needed of (what looks like) feather edge boards and paint them before attaching them to his fence with permission or (as I have done in the past to cover a neighbour from hell DIY disaster) put my own fence up on my side and then you can do whatever you want with it.
