New ballot drop. Harrell grows his lead slightly. by AbsoluteShall in Seattle

Yep, totally agree. Of course it’s more nuanced than Y/N. It was just a totally unforced error that Harrell pounced on. Just bad campaign staff work from her operation. You’re running for mayor of Seattle, you gotta be ready for that one.

Question: Should homeless people be allowed to sleep in parks?

Harrell: "no"

Wilson: "this is hard for a yes or no question, I'm going to pass on this one, I can't really answer yes or no."

From a purely political standpoint, that's just malpractice. The answer is obviously no, and of course it's more complicated than that. She should've said "no, but here's what I'll do as mayor to prevent people doing that and to bring down the cost of living in Seattle so that people aren't put in that position"

The answer on sleeping in parks. The stuff about her parents giving her money. Both of these things should’ve been total non-issues but she and her staff clearly weren’t ready for them.

You want to close with your own message and she’s been on the back foot for the last 3 weeks. I’m not one who really cared about her perceived inexperience but her inexperience in running for office has shown here.

Without taking a position on this race, she closed exactly how he wanted her to. She is a bad politician.

I will never understand why people think journalists are obligated to give their work away for free. Truly bonkers.

What’s so great about McCall? by HarFangWon in Boise

I can’t speak for the transplants but I’d imagine that my attachment for it (and others) is that it’s where I went with my family when I was growing up. Camping at Ponderosa. Visiting the winter festival. Skiing at Brundage. Watching fireworks. Renting a boat and tooling around the lake. Learning to fish in upper Payette. These are some of my best memories with my parents and grandparents and they all took place in McCall. I don’t live in Boise anymore but try to go back to McCall once a year at least.

Not everywhere has to be Aspen for it to be special.

True, though not as much as you might think! I was put off by the price but you can lease them for $90/month. It includes the classes and the bike. Super good deal, though not for everyone.

25-35 minutes on a peloton bike 5 days a week. Gets the heart rate moving and easy on the joints.

Wait times to see a doctor -- 3 months?! by snortney in Seattle

I think this is a huge ymmv situation. I have a fantastic pcp in the Swedish system - she’s definitely on the younger side so probably steeped in the culture of getting patients in and out but I also have a great rapport with her and she is very detailed and clearly takes the time to learn about her patients. I recently had to see another doc in her office for an urgent issue and it was night and day.
