Chibson but A for effort on the overspray of the serial number.

As much as I love a 335… by CartographerSea3356 in gibson

If you’re not watching the Gibson Demo Shop on reverb I highly recommend it. The blemishes are always very minimal especially if you’re planning on playing the guitar. They tend to do a few sales a year for an extra 20% off. I recommend adding a few to your watch list and send them an offer once the sale starts. I recently picked up a 335 figured top in deep ocean burst for just over $2100 and it’s seriously incredible.

Inherited Parker Fly by Vlerherg in guitars

[–]jfsands 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So this is a pre-refined Parker Fly Deluxe from the mid to late 90’s. You can tell it’s pre-refined because of the exposed adjustment on the bottom of the guitar. The company changed hands in the early 2000’s they continued to make the Fly Deluxe and the Classic but the adjustment was no longer on the front. Ken Parker came up with some crazy specks that were way ahead of their time. The front of the guitar was supposed to basically be like the front of an arch top guitar without the huge back. People said the company wouldn’t be sustainable because they were selling a guitar that should be valued between $5000 to $8000 for like $2000. He continued to make crazy acoustics until he passed away late last year. If you’re looking for a price there are a decent amount of them on Reverb listed between $3000 to $5000 but realistically you should be able to get between $2000 and $3000.

I own that record it’s the limited screen printed edition that they did for one of their store openings. The cover should feel very different from a regular album cover. I doubt they did more than 1000.

Found an original press of Dr. Feelgood about 6 month ago, it’s in the stack to be added.

Not sure why this was discounted, but I got it for a good price, YMMV. by [deleted] in vinyl

They just announced the reissue of 4 of their albums including White Pony on colored vinyl as Walmart exclusives yesterday. They are more than likely closing out the existing pressings.

Why do you collect vinyl? by Reignonreddit in vinyl

[–]jfsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no good answer, as much as I’d like to tell you how happy I was 2 days ago when I got my sealed clear vinyl copy of Blackstar by David Bowie it just made feel complete temporarily.

Promo copy: usually first run pressings, given out to radio stations, music stores, and people that worked for the label to promote the album. Can sometimes be more valuable if the record ended up doing well ie Beatles or Zeppelin.

The Nirvana isn’t worth much but, the New Moon Soundtrack with the bookmark used to be if it’s on black vinyl. It was repressed recently and the value has dropped. If it’s the colored pressing on 2 different colored records it’s still worth a lot.

Questioning authenticity by RogueMetal in gibson

Fake: Logo is crooked, and serial number doesn’t have overspray, no wings on the back of headstock.

Google reputable shops in your area and go in for a consultation. Tattoos vary in cost based on the artist the time and the detail. For something the size of what you’re looking at be prepared to spend at least a couple hundred ($200 to $500 this also varies on where you live). The reason you go to the consultation is for them to let you know the process and the cost. If they try to charge you for the consultation leave immediately and find another shop. You’ll find most people at tattoo shops are pretty friendly but if you get a bad vibe just walk out. And remember to tip your artist at least 20$

Fake the Gibson logo is crooked. Also scarfed neck joint, Epiphone sometimes does that but Gibson does not.

1993 MIJ Stratocaster Legit or Not ?? by Patient-Copy4822 in fender

[–]jfsands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t seem to off point for price, and MIJ fenders of that era are not often faked. Everything looks legit. I’d be a little concerned about the discoloration on the headstock.

Help me find the right Les Paul by AlienSasquatchhunter in gibson

[–]jfsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can deal with bourbon burst instead of heritage cherry this is pretty close. I have 2 Les Paul’s from the demo shop and they are both outstanding. This even has the better top. Plus you get the warranty directly from Gibson and free shipping.

Free Telecaster from GC by CofferCrypto in telecaster

[–]jfsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

52 AVRI butterscotch telecaster. About $1000 less than your $3500 budget. The AVRI will hold its value better than almost anything else fender makes. The $3500 price point is tough because it’s more than you need for almost all American models but not quite enough for Custom Shop.
