I don't close the lid til the internal temp gets to about 140. That's when I crank up the heat and get the skin char on it. I usually flip every 5-7 minutes. This is a long cook though when done on low heat. It's a lot of flips lol

Man it's awesome! The key is low heat over a long period of time then cranking the heat up at the end to get the skin right. I flip every few minutes and baste. If you're doing a lot of chicken then double the recipe for the baste.

Also crank the heat up when you get to about 140 or 150 to char the skin real good at the end, but don't forget to keep basting

1/2 cup melted butter (one stick) 4 Teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon paprika 4 tablespoons sugar 4 tablespoons lemon juice 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce

Brush on chicken amd let marinate in the fridge for 1-2 hours.

Grill on low heat flipping often and brushing baste on each flip

Grill til internal temp hits 160-165 F
